Love Is Like An Itchin In My Heart

Today I was in a record store looking at used 12" singles.

They had some interesting ones like "Low Down Dirty Rhythm", "The Big Hurt", etc.

Anyway, I came across a 12" by a group called Krystol with a remake of "Itchin'". Is this one any good?

Let me intervene before sfbeary gives his opinion... :D

I was shopping at Rockaway Records once in the mid-80s and I overheard some Queen inquiring about a cover version of The Supremes' " Love Is Like An itching In My Heart" that she'd heard at Probe. The staff didn't know what she was talkin' 'bout. So, helpful me gave him/her a copy of LILAIIMH by Krystol that I'd bought the previous week. It was a nice R&Bish cover of the tune; worth having I thought. I think he thanked me and I believe he bought it. :D

Later, I learned that the infamous LISA of "Jump Shout" fame had recorded LILAIIMH and it was only available to DJs at that point and that was obviously the record Probe was playing and the record my little Queen had wanted. :oops: :oops: :oops:

of course the queen wanted the LISA version - the KRISTOL version just wasn't heinous enough!

my opinion of kristol is that they had one strong record - "After the Dance Is Through," and those that followed are marginal = ok, but kinda bland.

i love this song, there is another version from im guessing 84 by helena harris but for me the best version is timothy wilson on blue rock records, and a better alternate take of the supremes lies in the motown vaults :roll:
