    Big Favour (80s Disco)

    Hey there
I am organising an 80s style roller disco in Edinburgh, which is on tomorrow, only problem is, my dj has backed out so now I have to make up some compilation CDs for it.
The only problem is I know nothing about 80s disco music! Or any other 80s music
So if anyone could help by replying with some 80s disco songs, I need around forty or so, your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thankyoo
    Nat

kenny dope (of masters at work) has an excellent cd called Roller Boogie '80s. you can't go wrong with any of these tracks:

Mary Jane Girls - All Night Long* *

Dennis Edwards - Don't Look Any Further*

    Taana Gardner - Heartbeat* *

    Gwen McRae - Funky Sensation*

Alicia Myers - I Want To Thank You* *

Slave - Just A Touch Of Love*

    Slave - Watching You*

    Odyssey - Inside Out* *

Central Line - Walking Into Sunshine*

Junior - Mama Used To Say* *

Fonda Rae - Over Like A Fat Rat* *

Janet Lady Day - Come Let Me Love You*

Young & Co - I Like What You Doin To Me*

Weeks & Co - Rock Your World* *

Unlimited Touch - Search To Find The One*

    Denroy Morgan - I'll Do Anything* *

Unlimited Touch - I Hear Music in The Streets*

Nick Striker - A Little Bit Of Jazz*

additionally, you could add these thematically-correct tracks:

Vaughn Mason - Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll

Peaches & Herb - Roller Skatin' Mate

here are some '80s cuts from K-Tel's Roller Disco CD not previously mentioned:

Let It Whip - Dazz Band

Double Dutch Bus - Frankie Smith

Give It To Me Baby - Rick James
    *
plus one i remember skating to at NYC's Roxy roller disco back in the day:

Gino Soccio - Try It Out

some of the suggestions in the last post came out in the '70s - if you want to stay thematically consistant, you could use these that he suggested:

    Prince "1999"

George Benson "give me the night"

indeep " last night a dj saved my life"

    Patrice Rushen "forget me nots"

    cameo "shake your pants"

Kool and the gang "street kids"

Michael Jackson "billie jean" "wanna be startin somethin"

Try also the most overplayed 80's dance songs:

    Joe Dolce "Shaddap You Face"

Eddy Grant "I Don't Wanna Dance"

Glenn Frey "The Heat Is On"

Tears For Fears "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"

Oh sorry i didn't see it was a pure 80's selection. You can add also:

    cameo "candy"

richard john smith "she's the master of the game" <=== huge!!!!!

i had recommended popular (and in some cases overplayed) tracks because this guy has little time to find his tracks - to me, it makes no sense to recommend songs that are out-of-print or difficult to obtain.

btw - the candela track is "love you madly."

"Roller Boogie" by Voggue (b-side of Dancin' the Night Away 12")

    And for those out-of-control skaters:
"Hit 'n' Run Lover" by Carol Jiani
"Pull Up to the Bumper" by Grace Jones.
