MSN Messenger
Does anybody know anything about MSN Messenger?
I signed up and downloaded the program, installed sand it worked fine. Was chatting with a friend for a while.
Anyway, fired up the computer and I don't seem to be able to sign in  . I clicked the troubleshooty button and it said that I may not have internet connectivity. It also mentioned about a firewall.
A) I have a DSL connection
B) I do have a personal firewall which came as part of the McAfee Internet security 2004 suite. However I checked and MSN Messenger has full access to the internet so it isn't being blocked.
HELP!!

MSN messenger sometimes has those problems. If it happens again just be patient and try again after an hour.
If you can't connect at all, then make another account (it's always free so...).
In the war against spam and zombiesites MSN closes accounts who they think are "part of the problem" and sometimes they close the wrong ones. Friends of mine have had the same problem and were "active" again when they took a new account.
Maybe that's your problem. The problem can also be your firewall. In that case give the firewall the explicit command that MSN can go on the net. Good luck :)

I don't think this is your problem but ...
If you are running "Outlook Express' it creates a conflict with the new MSN versions (6.0?), I believe OE is packaged with version 4.7 which is launched automatically and then MSN 5.0- 6.0 continuously prompts you to 'upgrade' even though you have the newest version, MS has a Registry fix posted that keeps OE's version from launching and conflicting, but this fix was worse, it slows down booting up and OE launching, I just stop using MSN until they get it right.
