Bobby Lyle - The forgotten king Of disco?

OK I know this header is probably taking it to far, but after listening to keyboard player Bobby Lyle's 1979 "Night Fire" LP, this is ecxately how i feel about this guy.

I bought this LP at a record fair a few days ago, mainly expecting to get a jazz-funk Crusaders kinda thing. (bobby Lyle is actually a smooth jazzer nowadays). Imagine my surprise when I first heard the track entitled "Da-Ya-Ance (Body Chanting)"
Anyone familiar with this track? If not ya'll outta seek it out since it's the best damn thing I've ever heard!! :D

think: Herbie Hancock's disco stuff with a bit of 70s george duke on top and with some classy brothers johnson flava added.
    This track is unmissable!!

I'm a big fan of Mr Lyle for tracks like "The Genie". I also like his album for the late 80's with "Save it for a Rainy Day".

Anyway, I dug this LP out about a year back and discovered this suprisingly "disco" song. The second half of the track from the break onwards with the spacy synth solo is great. However, the vocals and song itself are IMO pretty weak Isn't it Bobby himself singing (I haven't got the LP to hand), whoever it is hasn't got a great voice.
    Leather is the way forward!

    Leatherman,
It is indeed bobby singing the track himself. In fact he's doing most of the vocals on the LP. I'll admit his vocals are rather weak, bu when the rest is as good as on that track, I'm willing to see through it :)
