    Orrible sites

    Hi all
someone showed me a very orrible site with a lot of images and videos from iraki tortures and so on.
There's a forum inside and I was surprised how many people was registered.
Which kind of people can look at that?
I assure if you go there, you will be touched.
I don't give the link because don't want to create problems to others but I ask myself how could it be possible a lot of people be so cruel.
    What is your opinion?

    Bye

Well, there always were websites with close-ups from traffic crashes, fires, etc. I remember someone trying to lure me into see some pics of victims of the World Trade Center thing... Well...
Some people like to feel they face risk, it seems. Me, I don't want to have nightmares, man.
There's a book called "Nunca más" ("never again") that compiles what our military did with at least 10,000 Argentine people during our last dictatorship (1976-83). I've read that; in fact, I think it's good for our people to know about those things. However, I confess it is a very tough reading. Some real facts defy imagination of any kind.
However, "Nunca más" was done to make a nation conscient of their own limits. Those websites... I dunno.

I think a lot of people are curious about those atrocities.

I saw a few images on the evening news here and was already disgusted by them. So I definitely don't want to see those sites.

Last weeks our national television was broadcasting a part of the decapitations of the several hostages. I'm sure there's a lot of sites where you can see the whole scene. Too sad for words.

But in the 70's videostores here had the Mondo Kane videos (real accidents, man eaten by a lion and stuff like that) on their shelves and they were a huge success. I think this is not something new but has always existed.

    Some people will never change.

And can you imagine that some people were more shocked about the Jackson-Superbowl-incident then after watching the horrible prison scenes?

    Dear Friends!
About 20 or 25 years ago there were so-called DeathFilms
like "Mondo Cane" or "Faces Of Death" at the cinemas and
I thought I **** myself to death!!! But nowadays every kind
of death is shown in the TV, so that every child can watch
this negative propaganda-schmarrn from both sides of
this ugly world. Poor children! I think we´re living between
    replicants and zombies...
30 years ago it was a shame that children are playing with
    plastic-guns...and nowadays?
30 years ago it was a scandal watching snuff-videos, nowa-
    days it is "banal" reality!
I am afraid, that there will be a big, big war for everyone of
us, and no-one of these zombies will care...

The Masses -- What one must understand.

Participants in this site are a lucky bunch. They obviously have at least one hobby. Those who are either deejays or music-industry professionals or musicians have worked very hard to hone their professional skills, which are very, very valuable. In other words, we've got things to keep us occupied. Many of us live in major metropolitan areas or the immediate suburbs thereof and are surrounded by nightlife, culture and everything else available to city-dwellers.

Now to my point. There are vast areas of this country that are populated by people who, although they work hard from early in the morning until day's end, have only that, and television, to keep them occupied (oh, and I forgot, the occasional hunting trip).

Blood and guts sells. "Faces of Death" did so well because people want to toe the line without going over it, perhaps seeking to discover some clue to what's going to happen to them once their brief time on this earth is ended.

One of the bars I own was packed 9/11 and a few days thereafter with folks who'd taken the day off and viewed the mayhem and the interviews with the fortunate few who were injured but made it out alive.

Morbid curiosity will always be with us. I believe that morbid curiosity is best defined as a spiritual vacuum.
    - Yours, musically
