    I love a Parade 2004!

Here we go with another LGBT Pride Parade in San Francisco this coming Sunday, June 27!

This year we have Bruce Vilanch (who is currently doing a terrific job playing Edna Turnblad in "Hairspray"!) and Alan Cumming (you might know him from one of his most commercial role in the second X-Men movie) as our Celebrity Grand Marshalls.

I'm really looking forward to the post Parade entertainment. Chaka Khan will be performing for about a half hour, and she's followed by a performance (we can only wish! ) by the men of Falcon!

What's going on in your part of the world to celebrate?

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day this past Sunday! The fog was nowhere to be seen and temps were in the lower 70s.

The Parade lasted about 3 hours - moved really efficiently ths year. I don't know if it's true or not, but one of the hostesses on the television broadcast commented that the SF Pride Parade is the largest parade in the world! Is that possible???

Bruce Vilanch was interviewed before the Parade and he saw this little girl being pushed around on a cart decorated with flowers and a sign, "I love my two Mommies!" He couldn't resist commenting that the little girl was probably thinking, "Look! They turned me into a FLOAT!" He added that she'll probably have to go into therapy, "I wanted to be a ballerina, but they turned me into a FLOAT!!!"

Alan Cumming had a tasteful anti-Bush t-shirt on. Graham Norton was another celebrity Grand Marshall, but not very many people knew him.

The highlight of the Parade was Mayor Gavin Newsom. You could hear the growing cheers for him from blocks away! He was immediately followed by the second largest contingency in the Parade - many of the approximately 4,000 gay couples that were married at City Hall earlier this year. That was a lovely and moving site!

After the Parade, the post parade celebration in Civic Center seemed more crowded than usual. One of the most popular booths had porn stars from Colt and Bel Ami studios!

Chaka Khan sang quite a few songs, including "I Feel For You," "Through The Fire," and, of course, "I'm Every Woman." However, her voice wasn't in the best of form. The crowd didn't care - we loved her anyway!

What happened elsewhere this Pride weekend???
