    Jazzy disco songs?

I´m looking for good jazzy disco songs. Do you know some?
For example: Herbie Hancock "stars in your eyes"
Montana Sextett "who needs enemies with friends like you"
    Yasuko Agawa "L.a. Nights"
    Steely Dan "Hey nineteen"

    Thanks!

Some of my favourites that spring instantly to mind are 'You Got the Floor' - Arthur Adams, 'Delirium' - Francine McGee, 'Youre a Star' - Aquarian Dream, 'Deja Vu' - Paulinho Da Costa,'Nights Over Egypt' - Jones Girls, 'Turn The Music Up' - Players Association & 'Jazz Carnival' - Azymuth. There are hundreds more I'm sure!
    ...ya gotta beat the street......

"Hey Nineteen" is a wonderful song. Here are some jazzy disco/dance/funk songs that I like:
    "Streetlife" by the Crusaders
"Rise" by Herb Alpert (always reminds me of NYC)
"Turn the Music Up!" by the Players Association
"Love Hangover" by the Players Association
"Get Down Mellow Sound" by the Players Association
"Like an Old Time Melody" by Teresa
"Time" by Light of the World
    "Kasso" by Kasso
    "Shine On" by George Duke
"Ease Your Mind (UK Mix)" by Touchdown
"Try It Out" by Gino Soccio
"Candidate for Love" by T.S. Monk
"Just Can't Give You Up" by Mystic Merlin
"Give Me the Night" by George Benson
"Night Fever" by Disco Light Orchestra (instrumental cover of the Bee Gees hit)
"For the Love of Money" by Disco Dub Band (another cover)
"Mude o Baile" by BsB Disco Club (you'd like the last part of that song)
    "Happy Music" by the Blackbyrds
"Change (Makes You Wanna Hustle)" by Donald Byrd
    "Lowdown" by Boz Scaggs
"Do I Do" by Stevie Wonder
"Baby Don't You Know" by Bobbi Humphrey
    "The Bottle" by Maysa Leak
    ...and most recently:
"You Lift Me Up (Pound Boys Main Mix)" by Norma Jean Wright (former member of Chic)

Don't forget "Still In Love" by Rose Royce, wonderful song, and "For Your Love" by Idris Muhammed. Two of my faves.

IMO one of the most hypnotic jazzy/dance tunes ever is "Melting Pot" by Booker T and the MGs, especially the break down in the middle of the record, and another fave mentioned here many times before and one I’m still looking for on 12” , “Expansion” by Lonnie Liston Smith, Also try “Always there” by Willie Bobo and Side Effect..

I likes me some jazzy disco. Trouble is I can never remember any darned thing! However, here are a few that have popped into my head. Please note I've tried to think of jazzy disco tracks NOT jazz funk. There's a big difference.

Willie Bobo - Always There (the definitive version of this Ronnie Laws' tune?)
Players Association - Disco Inferno (the definitive version for me)
Kool & The Gang - Open Sesame (very jazzy chords and very disco)
Baby O - In The Forest (for its intro & solos)
Richard Evans - Burning Spear (a powerhouse, relentless jazzy disco track verging on jazz funk)
MSO - Columbia (maybe, maybe not. A hard record to categorize.)
Blue Rondo a la Turk - Me & Mr. Sanchez ( now I'm maybe getting a bit silly, except this was 127 BPM and the soloing was beautifully jazzy in places)
Pig Bag - Papa's Got A Brand New Pig Bag (even sillier, but 136 -141 BPM, flying hi hats and pure, maniacal jazz soloing. By all normal parameters this could be dismissed as absolute crap, but what a life affirming joyous noise!)

    enjoy.

It's funny... On reading the title of this topic I inmediately thought of a Lipps Inc. song called "Jazzy". I kinda liked it at the time, but now it sounds like the "wait in line" phone version of a "jazzy" melody. :D I guess I hadn't listen much jazz music at that time.
There's a "solo" made by some kind of synthesizer (of the "wooooiiiinnng" kind :) ), a monotone drum track worthy of Kraftwerk and those disco violins on top of all that. That Steve Greenberg guy had a curious idea of jazz music, huh?

IMO The baddest jam by the Blackbyrds is "Gut level", listen to the tenor/soprano sax ....ahhh they don't make them like they used to

Female players patrice Rushen and Lesette Wilson deserve a mention.

    Also Herbie Hancock's albums:
    Feet Don't Fail Me Now
    Magic Windows
    Lite Me Up
    mr Hands
    Monster
    Sunlight

All of these are out on CD
    There was life after disco!!

Mentioned before, but check out the Players Association. Jazz musicians playing disco. I have found their 3 first albums on CD. I think this is one of the best examples of jazzy disco (not jazz-funk or Italo etc.)

Mezzoforte (from Iceland) had some jazzy "disco" hits in the early 80's. I think there are a "greatest hits" on CD

If you like disco with a latin touch check out the superb collection "Latin Disco". (On the Nascente label)

Crusaders and the solo albums from the members Wilton Felder and Stix Hooper are also sure bets.

    Rodney franklin - The Groove
    William Bell - Headline News
Donald Byrd - Love has come around

Wood, Brass & Steel - Funkanova

The Asphalt Jungle/Funk Fusion Band combination must surely be near the top of the tree.

Hudson People's 'Trip To Your Mind' is an obvious one (especially the original version).

Dinosaur L's 'Go Bang #5' is undoubtedly one of the jazziest, in a way which goes over most peoples' heads.

David Bendeth's 'Feel The Real' (12")

I have to say, quite a of the titles mentioned so far aren't very jazzy and disco IMHO. They may have horn arrangements or whatever, but...

"Love Has Come, Love Won't Come" Invisible Man's Band
    Supremely horny and jazzy

"Cash In My Pocket" High Gloss
    As above...Oooooh.

Maybe not strictly disco but Julia and Company "Break it Down (Sugar Samba)" was quite a jazzy soul/dance record that seemed to really cross over to the masses here in the UK. Cameo "The Sound Table" is another favourite from the same period

It's a difficult genre to define. Most people's lists so far, are jazz funk, eh? Perhaps that's what the guy's actually looking for?
