    Dear Friends!
This Night is one of the most important
Events here in Vienna: The Life-Ball is
    a AIDS-Charity-Festivity at the City Hall =
    Rathaus.
The Life-Ball is existing since 1992 and
brought lots of money for people with HIV
    and AIDS.
I will play at HEAVEN´s DANCE MACHINE be-
    ginning at 8:00 p.m.
Certainly my set will be full of Disco-
Classics and hope for some DanceCraze and
Extravaganca like the last years before.
As I mentioned before so many people are

I've been looking for that Johnny Mathis track "Gone Gone Gone" for ages.

How long is the 12-inch version? And do you know which Johhny mathis LP is featured on ??

    Dear jazz pilgrim!
"Gone Gone Gone" as 12" is about over
6 Minutes long. But on the cover there´s
the wrong time showed(about 3 Minutes).
It has been released on red vinyl on CBS 1979
    I didn´t play it, because I haven´t enough
time, but I also love this record.

I've also been looking for the Johnny Mathis 12"--only recently did I realize that "Gone, Gone, Gone" is on the flipside of "Begin The Beguine" which I know I have seen--but never bothered to turn over. DUH!!!!!!

Both tracks are from the 1979 LP "The Best Days Of My Life" which is pretty easy to find. But, the LP tracks are short: "GGG": 3:32 and "BTB": 4:16.

I've always loved the 12" of "Gone, Gone, Gone" since the Trocadero days; I should have known that my favorite remixer, John Luongo did that tasty 12" mix.

Mark, how could you forget that the two songs were on the same twelve??? Remember how much we used to charge at Aloha for a used copy of this record (on the rare occasions that it showed up)?

Keefe, I don't recall EVER seeing this record all the while I worked at Aloha. Musta been before my time. Why is it so rare???? Only available for a limited time? Just a promo? I have yet to get my hands on a copy of this--although as I mentioned--I think I have seen "Begin The Beguine" maybe at Prime Cuts in the mid-80's. But I'm not positive.

It was commercially available for a little while, but before Aloha opened (if I recall correctly, I bought mine at Gramophone on Polk). It's one of those records that didn't widely catch on until after it was out of print (thanks largely to DJs who would play obscure cuts, like Bobby V!)

Well Keefe, I guess I was one of those uninformed folks who didn't catch on to the "GGG" song until Bobby V. worked it at Troc and it was no longer available. Truth be told, I probably NEVER would have bought a Johnny Mathis 12" at that point in my life. "Tired", I'm sure I woulda thought. I was into Blondie at that point. Nuff said.
