Welcome to the message board. By the way, my favorite disco song is "More, More, More" by the Andrea True Connection.
I have so many but I think I have to say Don't Leave me this way by Thelma Houston
Groovin,
This is a VERY hard question! I cannot narrow
it down to 1 but I was able to give you my
top 7:
1.Favorite Eurodisco songs go to: From here to Eternity(Giorgio Moroder) & Brazil(Ritchie Family).
2.Cocomotion - El Coco
3.Let's do the latin hustle - Eddie Drennon
4.Freeman - South Shore Commission
5.Love Hangover - Diana Ross
6.Contact - Edwin Starr
Out of all the posts that I have participated
in, this was the HARDEST! But my all-time
favorite disco artist is Donna Summer and my
favorite of hers is "Try Me, I know we can
make it".
DELIGHTFUL!
"Ain't no stoppin' us now" by Mc Fadden & Whitehead is one of my favourite songs. But there are many more... your question is difficult to answer!
People all over the world, It\'s time for love & understanding, Come together!!
Welcome to the board, GGM. This is a fun but hard one to answer. I'll give a 'top five' but don't hold me to it. All could change tomorrow.
SOUVENIRS / FROM EAST TO WEST - VOYAGE
MAKIN' MUSIC (DUB MIX) - GARY'S GANG
DANGER - GREGG DIAMOND
LOVE HANGOVER - DIANA ROSS
LOVE IS THE MESSAGE - MFSB

Today, I'll say "This Will Be A Night To Remember" by Eddie Holman on SalSoul. The record transports me back to those wonderful all-night dancing days of the past. This was a high energy (approx. 136 BPM) peaktime assurance from the DJ that, yes indeed, you were gonna have a good time tonight and, hopefully, REMEMBER IT!!!
RUNNERS UP:
BEST "POPPER MUSIC" : "Evolution" by Giorgio Moroder (The sound of sleazy sex)
BEST FUNK WORKOUT: "Give It To Me Baby" by Rick James
BEST EURO: "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer
BEST DRAMA DIVA SONG: "Was That All It Was" by Jean Carn
BEST MORNING MUSIC: "More, More, More" by the Andrea True Connection (Don't know why I picked this--maybe because that break with the woodblock & cowbells makes my feet wanna dance); there are sooo many more in this category.
BEST EPIC PRODUCTION: "Vertigo/Relight My Fire" by Dan Hartman featuring Miss Loleatta Holloway. (Classic sweeping you off your feet drama & energy).

BEST "POPPER MUSIC" : "Evolution" by Giorgio Moroder (The sound of sleazy sex)
Poppers and Giogio and sleaze, oh my! (makes mental note to put this previously-thought-to-be-unremarkable track on tonight)
Graham,
Maybe an Al Parker video might be thrown into the mix of Giorgio & poppers & sleaze? Just a thought...(imaginary smiley face inserted here).
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Graham,
One more thought...
I'm surprised to hear you say you didn't think much of "Evolution"; this was a key record at Trocadero. Steve Sukman, on his website at http://www.hyperactivemedia.com/5am/djs.htm analyzes Bobby Viteritti's style: "Bobby's signature sound was a 124 bpm disco guitar and bass-infused groove that had a moody, hypnotic and sexual energy to it". The sound clip he uses to demonstrate his point is "Evolution".
This was a guaranteed 5:00AM trip to sleaze on the dancefloor as I remember it.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Bernie, do ya think this growing thread from GGM should be moved to the "Discuss Disco Music" section? Just a thought, since the introduce yourself aspect has been superseded by the "favorite disco song" replies.

Hello GGm.
Very difficult choice.
Most times I would say, "Dance With You" or "What Can I Do For You" or "He's The Greatest Dancer."
Find them and destroy them!
Hello everyone!
I grew up in NJ and now reside in Nevada.
I am not new to the site or the message board
I seldom contribute but do lurk around often.
Song of all time? Impossible... Although
Lately I cannot get these out of my mind and have been playing them often:
THP Orchestra: Two hot for love
Love and Kisses: Beauty and the beast
Silvetti: Sun after the rain
Originals: Down to love town
Jumbo: Turn on to Love
Michael Franks
kid Creole and the coconuts
Anything from Alec R. Costandinos
WOW ! YOU GUYS HAVE ALOT OF GOOD TASTE IN
DISCO! YIKES ! THE THREAD TURNED INTO A SITE
FOR DISCUSSION !I LOVE SEEING WHAT ALL THE COOL
DISCO PEOPLE STILL DIG.MY LIST WENT LIKE THIS:
KEEP ON DANCING-GARY'S GANG. SPACER- SHEILA B.
THIS TIME -JACKIE MOORE. SOUVENIR...LOVE IT!
COME TO ME BY ENJOLI, BRAZIL,CONTACT BY EDWIN STAR,KEEP ON DANCING,GOT MY MIND MADE UP-INSTANT FUNK, MOVE ON UP, TOO HOT TOO TROT...OH
BOY! I GUESS I COULD JUST GO ON! I WISH THERE
WAS A WAY TO PUT ALL YOUR FAVORITES ON A CD.
THAT WAY YOU WOULDN'T SPEND SO MUCH LOOT ON CD'S !... I END UP HAVING TO COMPILE THE TAPES MYSELF ( I AM OLD SCHOOL),AND LATER
END UP SELLING THE CD'S 'CAUSE ALL THE REST OF THE SONGS ARE CRAP! THE MUSIC JUST REMINDS
ME OF A TIME IN MY LIFE WHERE YOUTH AND SIMPLICITY WENT HAND IN HAND! SAVING OUR BUS
MONEY SO WE COULD GET INTO THE DISCO SATURDAY
NIGHT. SPENDING ALL DAY SATURDAY IN THE MALLS
LOOKING FOR "THAT OUTFIT" AND TRYING TO COME
UP WITH THE RIGHT STEPS ALL AFTERNOON TO WIN THAT DANCE CONTEST. I GUESS THIS ALL WAS BROUGHT TO MIND AFTER A SERIOUS
DISCO PARTY ON A YACHT I ATTENDED.I FOUND THIS RAD VINTAGE DESIGNER
BELLBOTTOM DISCO OUTFIT BY DIVA DIANE VON FURSTENBURG...IF I HAD LIFE'S WISDOM BACK THEN , AND THE ABILITY TO SQUEEZE INTO THOSE SIZE 5 DITTOS NOW...LIFE WOULD BE GROOVY!!!
HEY GUYS, IT'S BEEN TOTALLY COOL! LATER FOR NOW !
