    33rpm and 45rpm ?

hey ok, so i ordered a disco record online cause i'm starting to build my record collection cause i'l getting turntables soon. i was born in 81 so i don't know if this is a matter of age. but the record has a bigger hole in the middle. not like a 12" 33?!?. so is it a 45rpm? is that how they all look?
    thanks

If it's 7 inches in diameter with the large hole then it most likely spins at 45 RPM.

Hi Deefexnyc in the UK we used to have what we called EX Juke Box records that were 7inch singles with their middles punched out (37mm approx) in order for them to have been played on the Juke Box. We could buy them cheap when the hits were no longer in the charts.

I'm not suggesting your record is ex Juke box, a lot of imports we got from the states had no middle as you say and they were brand new.
I think this is what you've probably got.

You just need a small adapter to centre them on the turntable or you can just do it by hand.

Hope i'm on the right track & not just talking rubbish
