    Ollie & Jerry

Jerry of OLLIE & JERRY had a big hit with Ollie in the mid 80's from the movie BREAKIN'.

My trivia question is.... Jerry was a solo artist and had a big disco hit in 1980. What was his solo name and the hit record for this 2 part question?

Is it Jerry Knight --- "Overnight Sensation"?

I also liked 'Im Down For That' by Jerry Knight from '82 on A&M. It had a very Solar sound IMO.

OK so this thread has now been renamed "Songs By Jerry Knight we like"
I might as well mention "Physical Clash" - an odd instrumental hidden away on the "Electric Boogaloo" 12"

BTW, did O & J ever make a full album? never seen one over here.

Oo, can I be the 1st! :P It has to be 'Is This a Love Thing'- one of my all-time favourite funky disco records. Definitely ahead of its time; oh, that's in another section isn't it?

LOL the ever changing thread!! Now it's all about Raydio!

I still dig "A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do)" as well as the instrumental "Still In The Groove" (isn't that the name of it?)

For Those Who Like To Groove and Still In The Groove are two seperate tracks, although very similar. Hence, Still In....
    Both great dancers.

On the topic of songs by Raydio, no one mentioned 'Get down' from the first LP. Another bit of trivia, this time featuring Ray Parker, Jr. of Raydio, in the movie 'Uptown Saturday Night' from circa '74, in the scene at the church picnic, if you look closely you can see Ray Parker, Jr. in the band. Just thought that was interesting.

    Easy,
