ANOTHER STAR works today just as well as it ever did. If you don't dance to that you ain't got no business having feet.
Stevie Wonder.
I know. Not exactly disco but some of his great songs found a place at the discos. I'm going to cheat and pick two that I love that also got some play in the clubs. "You Haven't Done Nothin'" and "Do I Do" are my choices. I really love Stevies music and I'm sure if I did this 6 months from now my selections will probably change.
Find them and destroy them!

I an not a fan of his music but my choice goes to ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE, a slow number.
"I just called to say I love you"... no I am only joking. Never could stand that song, and now that I have seen it being slaughtered by half drunk Japanese businessmen in Karaoke-bars here in Japan it is DEFINITELY in the trash bin.
What I do like is "Superstition" and "Do I do".
"ON THE BEAT" at http://littlemacho.tripod.com/
The songs of Stevie Wonder I personally think would be good for the disco floor are:
1 - Superstition 1972
2 - Keep On Running 1972
3 - Higher Ground 1973
4 - Boogie On Reggae Woman 1974
5 - Sir Duke 1976
6 - Do I Do 1982
I love Stevie's music too Paul! As a matter of fact, one of my favorite disco songs belongs to him and that is "Another Star". This song will definetely get me on the dance floor! I also like "Do I Do".

SENHORES DO GROOVE - BRAZIL
"For once in my live"
"My Cherie Amour"
"overjoyed" (this is an ageless classic)
"Yester me Yester you"
and many more mentioned here!
I used to mix "part-time lover" with "Maneater" Hall & Oats it was a floor packing combo.
I like "Uptight", "Sir Duke" and "Superstition".
Stevie Wonder is a musical genius. Duh, how profound. How can you pick a favorite? Most have mentioned the songs that work on the dancefloor. Let me add a more obscure choice that I know always gets my feet movin'--Stevie's cover of "We Can Work It Out" originally by The Beatles. Even Chaka Khan covered Stevie's cover using the same arrangement.
So many beautiful ballads to choose from..."Overjoyed" and "Lately" come to mind, but I could easily list 20 more.

Too many to mention but I'll go with "Always" as my favourite.
If it moves - funk it!!
There are so many Stevie Wonder songs that I like I can't pick just one. So here's a partial list:
"You Are The Sunshine Of My Life"
"I Wish"
"Superstition"
"Sir Duke"
"My Cherie Amour"
"For Once In My Life"
"Higher Ground"
Thank you for reminding me of that Chaka song. I think Chaka's voice worked better for that 'remake' than Stevie's. But the arrangement rocks. On 2002-05-13 16:09, markydefad wrote:

Dear Friends!
"Sir Duke" is still big, big Hit at BOOGIE
NIGHT. Another Track I like is "Superstition"
and "Master Blaster".
"As" is another great track from him...also
listen to the HouseCoverVersion of Ricky
Dillard in 1988 on Chicago Trax...now that´s
what I call DiscoReligion. Also another great
CoverVersion is SYLVESTER´s "Living For The
City" as DubVersion.
Cosmic Love & Kisses From SIRIUS & DARKTUNES
The ballads written by Stevie Wonder were beautiful, but "We Can Work It Out" was an excellent choice. I didn't think anyone would mention that one. Great job! I used to run that 7" to the ground on my Garard turntable. On 2002-05-13 16:09, markydefad wrote:

I had to come back and type up some other faves of Stevie's.
Besides "Another Star" and "Do I Do" I like:
As
Livin For The City
Sign,Sealed,Delivered
That Girl
Don't Worry About A Thing
Sir Duke
Send One Your Love
My Cherie Amour
*DELIGHTFUL*
Sorry, Paul, I can't eat 'just one'
For Club: Another Star; As; Sir Duke
For Sleaze: Love Light In Flight
For Me: Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day; Signed, Sealed Delivered I'm Yours
Man, oh, man --- I was at The Apollo in NYC when 12 year-old "Little Stevie Wonder" made his historic debut. We were so scared he was going to fall into the orchestra pit. He wouldn't stand still, and neither could we!
