Kechak Fantasy by Voyage on the debut album by the French Disco Gods, Voyage

In 1978, I used to dance at a disco that was the upstairs to a restaurant called The Branding Iron in old El Paso, Texas. There was a song with a pounding beat and a lot of drum work...The catch to the song came when the vocals (male) seemed to "chant"...."Chaka de chak de chak a chak chak..." This phrase was repeated over and over...The kids used to do this really funny dance to that particular record...With arms outstreached upward, we used to pretend that we were frantically picking apples off of a tree.... I know my post today is so totally weird...But maybe someone out there shares this similar memory...Who knows...?Sorry I don't remember more of the song...Just that strange chant that to this day runs in my head: "Chaka de chak de chak a chak chak..."

Hmmm...let's see - in 1978 I was 5!! It must have been the music of those damn kiddie LP's about the smurfs I had back then that got me goin' down. I wonder if there was some obscure disco hidden deep inside the grooves on those?
