Just in case anyone's interested... I'm a big ABBA fan and I know her song "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" is a favorite around here (one of my personal faves too).. She just released her first album after 17 years. The first single is a cover of "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind" originally by Cilla Black.. Not a radical interpretation a la Grace Jones, but it's quite good.. I don't have the album yet.. just wondering if anyone here has it, or is curious...
Her official site is at www.agnetha.se for those of you who are interested![]()
I just received the CD Single of this. It has and extended Almighty Mix on it, a radio edit and a dub. Very pretty.

The Pounding Drums, The Flashing Lights...
That album is all over the danish TV adds and constantly being played on the radio. Who would have thought Agneta would be able to get back in business like this. I wouldn't be surprised if the album goes platinum here.
Hmmmm....very interesting news!!!! I thought the reclusive Agnetha had totally "retired" to a Garbo-esque avoidance of public life. I see the cd ("My Colouring Book") is not yet available in the US. Barnes & Noble says May 11; AMG says May 4 but gives no track listing.
Wut up wit Frida???!!! :o
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Well unfortunately that part hasn't changed..She's still as reculsive as ever. She had some promo lined up for the UK, small stuff like a couple of interviews on BBC radio, but she later cancelled all promo, to much frustration from Warner Music. She did this one very brief appearance on this late nite TV show in Sweden, and she didn't even go to the studio, she did it via Satellite from her home.. So it's amazing that the album and single have been doing as well as they have with next to no promo on her part..Originally Written by markydefad
Frida as far as I know is still living the comfortable life of a socialite in Switzerland, contributing to little projects now and then.. gotta love those royalties from the ABBA records![]()
I heard that Benny, Bjorn & Frida were up for a big Abba reunion but Agnetha put the spanner in the works & refused point blank to do it. Isn't Frida married to German royalty/aristocracy nowadays? Did anyone see Culture Club performing 'Voulez vous' on TV the other night? Final question ( ) is that LP of Agnetha's featuring 'Wrap Your Arms Around Me' available on CD? (not the new one).
...ya gotta beat the street......
Yep, it's available on CD. I can't say that I recommend the rest of the album though. :/
That wouldn't surprise me. The official explanation from Benny or Bjorn (can't remember which) was that they felt that they would disappoint everyone. He said something along the lines of "people would be disappointed when they saw that we had grown old".Originally Written by Steely Dan
I take it there's not much for your average disco fan then Graham? (& I'm quite average!)
...ya gotta beat the street......
Yep, "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" and all of the post-ABBA solo albums are on CD and in print.. I actually quite like the album.. No disco on it, it's quite MOR, but it's good MOR in my opinion..but that's just meIt actually reminds me of one of Dusty Springfield's late 70s albums.. It was produced by Mike Chapman, who was producing Blondie at the time, but aside from one song, it's quite different from Blondie...
Frida was married and is currently widowed to Prince Ruzzo Reuss, he died a couple of years ago from Prostate cancer i think..
Do you remember Agnetha's single It's So Nice To Be Rich from 1983? :o What immoral lyrics! 8)
Couple of weeks ago I read from a swedish newspapaper that Agnetha's thirtysome norweigan, or was it danish, exboyfriend had been judged to exile from Sweden. He had been violent towards A. ... So succes doesn't guarantee happiness.
I still hope that the rumour of ABBA reuniting for a live performance in the finale of the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, is true. That would be magical! Well we're about to find out in about two weeks. I gather it would be guarded as topsecret untill the event.
