Tonight (Could Be The Night) 12" - The Earls

Can anyone shed light on this record?I've got this song on a 12".It was a 1977 disco version of the 1958 Velvets hit which they also covered in 1963 om their Remember Me album. It was much in the vein of Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart. The b side featured Meditation another disco treatment of an old lounge classic. This record was from Woodbury Records and manufactured and distributed here in Canada on the London record label.I can't find any reference to this record anywhere.Did they ever produce an album or was this a one time effort into the disco genre. It was arranged and produced by Evan Solot who worked with the Salsoul Orchestra. That's all I've been able to come up with.
Different eyes see different things. Different hearts beat on different strings. But there are times for you and me when all such things agree...Rush

This is the other 12" mentioned, It features a heavy funky bass line and a horn section with 'shades' of "Brass Construction", especially during the intro, strong male vocals with the band providing the backups, sax solo 2/3 into the song, the flip has their "love Epidemic" version also done by the Trammps, haven't play this one in a loooong time and didn't even remember how it went, all and all a very good funky dance groove, my only complaint is that the bass drowns the horn section in some spots.
