What's BABYLONE: SHALOM AND SALM like - I have a feeling there'a another gotta-find title. Anything with (faux) oriental exotica mood gives me a thrill - have you tried HAREM by Les Allumettes? This has an earpiercing apparently genuinely Moroccoan vocalist listing possible bedwarmers for the Sultan. Totally cheesy but the playing is rock hard and the thing grooves in an unsettling manner. - Fab to see CASHBAH IN CAIRO getting a spin!

I have a 12" of BABYLONE called "Dance The
Oriental Dance"/"Shalom And Salam"(1977).
It was released on EMI/Pathe Marconi and
seems to be a french thing. The Tracks are
more instrumental and are sounding very
middle-eastern.
SABINE SAUVANT is nothig else than the sister
of HEIDI BRÜHL, a famous german actress and
she sang "Casbah In Cairo". A tacky but
oriental influenced DiscoTrack from Munich.
Also look for LA BIONDA´s "Sandstorm",
or OFRA HAZA"Galbi"/"Im Nin Alu"...combine
these sounds together to create PEACE on the
dancefloor.
