There are a few Disco-Rock-New Wave connections:
Lene Lovich > Cerrone
Keith Forsey > Billy Idol
Giorgio Moroder > Phil Oakley (Human League)
Giorgio Moroder > Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Trevor Horn > Tina Charles (5000 Volts)
I was just looking at who wrote the lyrics to Supernature! and was amazed that it was Lena Lovich who had a hit with Lucky Number in 1979 abouts in Australia and UK not sure about US. I love the lyrics!

She's also on the Kikrokus album. I've seen a Lenelovich credited on an LP I have also (can't recall which) but I reckoned from that, Lenelovich is probably her surname. Eastern European disco diva?
I've always liked Lene Lovich with her quirky "ooh, ooh" lines in her songs. Stuff like her "Stateless" LP, "Lucky Number" and "It's You" are still quite playable.

What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
Didn't realize that Metro Area track was recent. Just heard a clip and I like it. May have to look into the whole album. Thanks for the heads-up on this one.Originally Written by Forrrce

Dear Friends!
Originally LENE LOVICH was from Detroit, but with yugo-
slawien parents. She also did screams for HorrorMovies.
In UK she began her career with "Lucky Number", which
I would describe as NewWaveDisco in 1978. Before she
had a FunkCombo called THE DIVERSIONS(Song:"But It
Is Funky"), where she played Sax.
LENE was pretty heavy with songs like "Say When", "Bird
Song" or "New Toy". She was very important for the Blitz/
NewRomantics-Generation. Nina Hagen is a very good friend
to her and both made a single called"Don´t Kill The Animals"
in 86.
A punkmovie was released in 79 called CHA-CHA with Lene,
Nina and Herman Brood.

Yeah... I remember a photo of them naked, Nina holding Lene's tits... he he :D :D :D
Certainly, Nina Hagen is another punk-disco connection: the ultimate punk-dance diva :P
Dear Nano!
NINA HAGEN will come to the Life-Ball 2004! Hope to see
her...praise the lord everyday with dread love!!!

Lene Lovich is absolutely the lyricist on the Supernature album. Her collaboration also continued with Cerrone years later, I believe on "The Collector". Many of the lyricists he worked with shared the lyric credit since the essence of the composition was the producer conceptualizing the theme and having the lyric 'translate' the idea to complete the song. Other great lyricists that have worked in France that have been successful include Helene Bank and my favourite, British-born Pamela Forrest, who was heavily involved in Sheila and later worked on Cerrone VII.
