    Donna Summer's best forgotten song?

I know there is a lot of DS fans on here, so maybe you will have some tips for me?

I was having a discussion with a friend last night and we wondered if there is a Donna track that wasn't a big hit at the time that still sounds good today? Kind of like that Elton John track that was a big hit recently.

"Come With Me" from "A Love Trilogy"--wonderful song that never got it's due.

"Love's Unkind" from "I Remember Yesterday".

"Winter Melody" from "Four Seasons Of Love".

    "Our Love" from "Hot Stuff".

    "Cold Love" from "The Wanderer".
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

I'm going to have to throw in the very good "Autumn Changes" from her "Four Season's of Love" album. I played this a few years ago on a whim and wondered how I had missed it.

    Some favorite forgotten Donna songs:

"Full Of Emptiness"-has a country/western feel that will make you cry tears in your beers, especially with the reprise of that song (last cut on "Love To Love You Baby" LP).

"Come With Me"-I agree with Marky on that one.

"Sweet Romance"-from "Once Upon A Time".

    "Mimi's Song"-from "Live And More".

"On My Honor"-from "Bad Girls". Proof that Donna's slow songs can be just as nerve-striking as her familiar material.

"The Wanderer"-Yes, this song was a big hit for Donna in 1980, but you never hear it on the radio anymore, and personally I think it has been forgotten.

I agree about "On My Honor" (note the steel guitar!!!) and will counter with another ballad that's very striking, yet forgotten...

"Can't We Just Sit Down & Talk It Over" from side 2 of "I Remember Yesterday"

For those who say HRH ain't got no soul--I offer this one as proof she do. :P

I'm not so well aware of what were hits and what were not, but likewise many others above have mentioned I recommend something from her Four Seasons of Love album. It has always been a mystery to me how there were no tracks on it on the On the Radio comp. :o

Summer Fever is suberb 8) as is Spring Affair and Autumn Changes.

Furthermore, Love's Unkind from I Remember yesterday is good.

But I don't really think there's nothing well hidden gemms from this lady, she's so widely known :D

Alot of the tracks mentioned here were "hits", just not pop el-garbage radio mainstream hits :D Summer Fever and Our Love were huuuuuuuuge (at least in the Philly discos). Id say the early Donna was exelent stuff..but of corse, thats thanks to Giorgio Moroder..not Donna.

would now be a bad time to say I had the pleasure of speaking with Giorgio over the phone in 97? ;) top guy.

I'm going to inject some life into this forum and say she's really quite dull.... granted she's got a couple of good tunes, but she's nothing special... there are 1,001 other disco bitches i'd give my precious attention to before her...

I forgive you, wayward son. Some day you'll know the TRUTH and see the errors of your ways, the hasty speed of your replies and the disrespect of your tone. :(

    Until then....

I remain, Mother Superior. Suck that tit, bitch. :P

I am gonna say this much..Donna was a sexual fantasy of mine back when (before she aged very badly) and when I saw her in concert one time..I swear she was flirting with me LOL LOL...call me conceeded but hell...I think it was goin on and so did my friend I had with me :D She does have a good voice yes, but music wise after Giorgio was done with her I really thought it all sucked LOL.
