Checked my copy of Dreamin and Dream and it lists lead vocals by Phillip Thomas so it could very well be him. Never noticed that connection before

I took a look at the back covers of a few CHA albums and Phillip Thomas is sporting a mid-sized afro with long sideburns so I can't tell if it's the same guy or not. Anybody want to look at their covers? The back cover of the "Do It Your Way" LP has a clear shot of him.

I'm thinking there are 2 different singers: Phillip Thomas of Crown Heights Affair and Phillip (or Philip) Michael Thomas of "Miami Vice"--who did sing, but not that successfully.

The AMG listing doesn't make any connection between the two.

I think that if PMT had been the lead singer of that group--that info would have been out there when he had his 15 seconds of fame. He was a very arrogant guy--said he was going to win an Oscar, an Emmy and a Grammy for his talents.

    How's that goin' PMT????

Philip Michael Thomas was working as an actor in the early 1970s.

    Some credits:

    Valentine (1979) (TV) .... Bean
Lawman Without a Gun (1979) (TV) .... Rufus Cartwright
Dark, The (1979) .... Corn Rows
    ... aka Mutilator, The (1979)
    Death Drug (1978)
Beasts Are on the Streets, The (1978) (TV) .... Eddie Morgan
Hombre de los hongos, El (1976) .... Gaspar
... aka Mushroom Eater, The (1976)
    Sparkle (1976) .... Stix
    Coonskin (1975) .... Randy
... aka Bustin' Out (1975) (UK: LD title)
    ... aka Streetfight (1975)
Black Fist (1975) .... Fletch & Boom Boom
... aka Black Streetfighter, The (1975)
    ... aka Bogard (1975)
    ... aka Fist (1975)
    ... aka Homeboy (1975)
Mr. Ricco (1975) (as Philip Thomas) .... Purvis Mapes
Book of Numbers (1973) .... Dave Green
Toma (1973) (TV) .... Sam Hooper
Stigma (1972) .... Dr. Calvin Crosse
Come Back, Charleston Blue (1972) .... Minister

I doubt if he was fronting a group at the same time.

the music choice 24/7 channel has been wrong before on stuff like this.i was like most people who read this the first time."like, say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!".but it didn't take long for discomusic members wonderful disco knowledge to bust this disco myth.it's like mythbusters but disco style.

    thanks markey

    That's ma Marky
Thanks for saving me Marky. I almost distributed this info. I too was surprised to hear about PMT acting and singing. He would have been our modern day Paul Robeson minus perhaps the intellect
Looking at his acting credits perhaps he is more like a 70s Sam Jackson.

I looked up the cover of Crown Height Affairs' "You Gave Me Love" and I very much doubt that the "Vice" Philip Michael Thomas is among them. By the way, the B-side "Tell Me You Love Me" was co-written by a Phil Thomas.

This is a coincidence!! It was just yesterday I read that Raymond Burr (who played TV Detective Ironside) was also the drummer of Chocolate Milk in the late 70's. He is apparently now back in prison

Raymond Burr is dead!!!!!! He died in 1993--and NOT in prison!!!!

He was never a drummer for any group!!!!!! He was the villian in lotsa 1950s movies like "Rear Window", then was "Perry Mason" on TV for years and then "Ironsides"---then got so fat he could barely walk and died. Also he was gay. :P

Oh that would be sick! Chiki-chiki, ah-ah...

Now the one that could be believable, especially after a few pints of Guinness, is Latoya Jackson and Michael Jackson are one in the same.

Once again, I have to add corrections.

Miss Anna Nicole went on Trimspa (a diet pill) and actually dieted and has lost about 60 pounds. She's looooking goooood!!!! :D

She still crazy--but she be thin-er. Saw her on Larry King!!! A huge nutcase.

Don't miss Kathy Griffin's special on Bravo "The D-List" for hilarious stories about Miss Anna Nicole, Little Richard, Sharon Stone, Whitney Houston, Rosie O'Donnell, etc.

    It's MUST-SEE TV!!!!!
