Edmund Sylvers of the Sylvers has died

Edmund Sylvers, of the disco family singing group "The Sylvers", died of lung cancer on March 11, 2004 at the age of 47. Songs he participated in included "Boogie Fever" (where he sung lead), "High School Dance", and "Hot Line". He helped write the lyrics of the 1979 Sylvers songs "Is Everybody Happy" and "Dance Right Now", both on the DISCO FEVER album. By 1980 he had left the group to pursue a solo career.

Wow...That's pretty sad... :( I'm sorry to hear the news...The Sylvers were one of the last of the clean cut family acts of the 70's...I used to love to watch them in their matching jump suits and those "HUGE" afros... If I remember correctly, Foster Sylver was the little guy, right? I remember at dances when the first opening notes of Boogie Fever was heard, we'd literally "run" to the dancefloor! :D And "Hotline"...Wow..."Number, please"...That takes me back a while...The Sylvers were a class act of kids just having a lot of fun!!! They were absolutely "infectious"!! I'll remember them fondly...Take Care....Mario
