    Long time no chat all,
Been without internet for 4 days. Anyway, as I was saying about that bizzare yahoo experience. TONIGHT I BROKE THROUGH AND SPREAD THE WORD AND THEY LOVED IT!!! Heres the scoop, I started by playing excerps from one of my mixes. The first one had:
    Shangrila - La Pregunta
    Striptease - Cerrone
Macho Music (Im A Man Break) - Macho
and they were going wild wanting more

The next time i went up I played an excerpt with:

The Break (pitched down) - Kat Mandu
    Magnifique pt2 - Magnifique
Savage Lover (Inst. Mix) - The Ring
    Magnifique pt1 - Magnifique
Shangrila (sax mix) - La Pregunta
It Took Your Love - Edgar Winter
New York By Night - Dennis Parker

    They loved that even more

Then to wind up the night on my last turn to play music I played 1 track:
Dont Give A Damn - Revelacion (Cerrone)

I was going to go and they begged me to play one more so I gave them a 5am classic to end the night "Paradise Island" (instrumental vers. pitched down) - Wonderland Band

I gave them links to this site and the 5am site. Hopefully I did a breakthrough. What do you all think??

Go for it! Once most people get over their Saturday Night Fever and Disco Duck impressions of Disco they genereally like what they hear.

My girlfriend doesn't really care for Disco, but this past weekend the author of "Hot Stuff" invited us to a Disco party at Nations in DC (on gay night no less) and she was dancing like a maniac. At first she kept saying, "I can't dance to this...." since she is used to modern house and techno. By the third or fourth song she found her way and enjoyed the whole evening.

We both couldn't get over the energy on the floor. It was packed wall to wall and Nations is a huge venue. In fact there was another section with today's music and it was practically empty. It was great to see so many people just having a great time.

You can't kill the Disco beat!

    To NRGBEAT:
Yes, I've mixed Tantra and Magnifique before in a set. Very smooth and easy. Ptching Tantra down of corse. The only way to hear my mixes on line i guess would be live through Yahoo chat. My id is sumeria78 so, add me to a list and find me when im on there and ill make a special room.

    To Bernie:
Well if your girl likes techno/house then thats why she may like disco because the 'real" disco music is all the same. Also, on the recent club charts today Cerrone is back with an updated version of "Give Me Love".Off to work noww.

    Well,
Not too active over at the Yahoo deal so far this morning(tonight). Hardly anyone in the room(mostly youngsters). I played a mix for 24 min and most of this crowed couldnt handle it this is what was played:
Dance Away (Disco Mix) - Roxy Music
Another Cha Cha - Santa Esmeralda
Que Serra Mi Vida - Gibson Bros.
    The Break - Kat Mandu
Kiss You All Over - Broadway

One person knew the Gibson Bros. song from being on the 54 sndtrk.(a plus for mainstream people). Maybe things will pick up later but now its dead. I think we should make our own room over at Yahoo where we can all play and share this great music(if you have yahoo chat). I'd say Dj's play your mixes and others play your tracks. It just sucks that the suit and tie bastards had to **** up "Dance Groove Radio". But Bernie says he is trying to plan something to play mixes. I guess we'll see what he has planned.
