Hey Maarten.
This is a topic this "Jamerican" just couldn't resist :D
Strictly sticking to the reggae/disco crossover theme, I have two.
1 - Now That We Found Love: Third World
2 - Could You Be Loved: Bob Marley & The Wailers
I just posted a question in the "Ask others..." forum. Which reminded me that there are a lot of reggae "cross-overs" that are somewhere between reggae and dance.
In 2002 Soul Jazz Records brought out the excellent CD "Hustle! Reggae disco" (Bernie, insert link here  ).
My question, and this CD, prompted me to ask what your favorite reggae/dance/disco favorites were/are.
Mine? Here goes:
- Manu Dibango - Take your time
- Bill Summers & Summers Heat - She's gone
- Bernard Lavilliers - The ghetto (French song)
- Storm - It's my house
- Barry Biggs - Love come down
Honorary mention: Bob Marley - Jammin'
Over to y'all :P

What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
8)
"Love Me Tonight" Trevor Walters (1981)
"Wide Awake in a Dream" Barry Biggs (1981)
"Good Thing Going" Sugar Minott (Also '81, what a year it was!!) :D
"Red red wine" UB40
"Try jah love" Third world
Don't forget ol' Jimmy Cliff with "Hot shot" and "Reggae night". Those were from around 1983-84.
Don't forget Peter Tosh's "Buk-in-hamm Palace" about smoking a spliff in the Queen's house. This was a big one in Bobby V's Trocadero era. The dub is called "Dubbing In Buck-in-hamm" & is now available on the bonus track version of the "Mystic Man" CD.
AMG say:
"Buk-in-hamm Palace is the biggest departure, building its outlaw theme of smoking marijuana in the Queen of England's home over a bubbling disco rhythm. It's easily the most accessible moment here, driven by Tosh's crack backup band of the time, Word, Sound & Power."
3 versions are included:
6. Buk-in-hamm Palace (Tosh) - 8:47
10. Buk-in-hamm Palace[*] (Tosh) - 7:43
14. Dubbing Buk-in-hamm[*] (Tosh) - 8:31
"Light up your spliff, light up your (sounds like) chalice(?)---gonna smoke it in Buck-in-hamm Palace"
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
