    Finding disco music on CD.

I've been trying to find more rare disco music on CD and started looking on the Unidisc Records. I looked through their online catalogue and was really impressed and suprised--I had no idea many of those were available on CD.

Joe Bataan, Lemon---tons of Prelude and Salsoul items.

But there's no option to place orders online. Then I started searching online for Unidisc items by their catalogue number, and discovered another site, "buymusicbymail.com." It had almost everything from the Unidisc catalogue. But the site had limited information, and no contact address or phone number.

Is anyone familiar with "Buy Music By Mail" or in ordering directly from Unidisc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Many of those titles are available through Amazon and sometimes for less. Check out...

    Amazon.

Thanks! A lot of the Unidisc items are on Amazon or FYE (which usually has links to listen to samples). Unfortunately, the items that I wanted either aren't even listed on Amazon... I was just a little wary of the site I mentioned because it was kind of low-tech seeming. I was hoping someone had experience ordering from them or directly from Unidisc.

    Hi David,
Since you're close to the Bay Area, you might want to check out Medium Rare Records in San Francisco (do a Google search). When the new owners took over (Michael, Greg and Michael), they started stocking as many CD reissues as they could find of the stuff from the 70s to early 80s. They have alot from Unidisc, Salsoul, Prelude and more.

It's dangerous for me to set foot in that store since I always find several CDs I want to purchase!

hi David, I've ordered from Buy Music By Mail several times, they're the official mail order suppliers of Unidisc product. They didn't accept credit cards last time i ordered two years ago, used to pay via money order, but that may have changed now. Otherwise, buy with confidence, click their 'help' button if you need more information.

keefelc, i dropped into Medium Rare Records on my last evening in San Francisco last September and was so glad i did as i picked up Russian cd reissues of Baccara, Belle Epoque and Dee D. Jackson and the guys were very friendly too even giving me a discount - highly recommended if you're in the Castro !
