We've had this request before. I think last time, the Jabara was the correct ID...so maybe this time, it's 'Puerto Rico' by Decoupage. It fits the description.
Just discovered this forum - what a great place to celebrate great music !
Looking for help on song from late 70's perhaps, mostly instrumental as I remember it and featuring the line "Puerto Rico" sung twice over by a group of ladies including singing "Daba-da daa-ba, Daba-da daa-ba" twice as well. Might have been a part of some medley perhaps... Not the Paul Jabara "Honeymoon" track thou. Who's singing??? HELP u great experts out there! - I've been searching for years...

What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
Thanks Forrrce! Much appreciated - Do you know if there is a sound clip available anywhere on this track? Been searching all over today but nothing found so far... Or even better, do you know if it has been included in any CD compilation I can purchase somewhere? Tnx again for your reply!
Unfortunately, I don't think it ever made it to CD. It was on the R&B/Red Bus label from the UK and it was (I think) produced by Jolley & Swaine, the guys behind Imagination. Year was 1982. Sort of percussive, carnivalesque disco, right?
Maybe it's the one you want. I'm sure there are copies out there somewhere - try Gemm or Musicstack.

I might have a spare copy of this if you're interested.
Hey Forrrce, you're right on the money - that must be the track. Thanks for the superb assistance!
Thanks also for the offer from the other poster. Will keep it mind and I will get a copy as soon as I'm back in Europe. ("On the road" in China this coming week so its hard to coordinate with DHL...)
Excellent, Cheers All!
Forrrce, as usual you are right. I wonder, is there anything he doesn't know...
Decoupage released Puerto Rico in 1982 on Red Bus, and the writing credits do go to Steve Jolly & Tony Swain.
This track can also be found on an excellent double album (vinyl) called "Double Deckers" (Red Bus RDD1/P.R.T. Records).
