Songs that could replace some entries on top 500

Strictly my opinion...but these songs should have replaced these crap or non disco songs...

AUTOMATIC LOVER Dee D Jackson, SHAKE YOUR GROOVE THING Peaches And Herb (crap)

CALL ME Blondie, GET DOWN, Gene Chandler (non disco)

INTO THE GROOVE, Madonna, MY OLD PIANO, Diana Ross
    (excellent but not disco)
    COCOCABANA Barry Manilow, anything.
    (Oh my..)
What songs did you feel hard done by for not appearing on this top 500 chart?

Ooh! You're on some shaky ground there.

Surely the whole point of the top 500, love it or loathe it, is that any one person's subjective tastes can't dominate matters.
So for me, for instance, Peaches & Herb is ultimately more satisfying than DD Jackson, whereas for you it obviously isn't. Your non-disco Gene Chandler - Get Down was one of my biggest ever dance records of the classic disco period.

I could name loads of records that I'd replace, but the top 500 was part of a democratic process and so, as far as I'm concerned, it should stay as is. The whole is therefore made better than the constituent parts.

Replace Donna Summer's 'Last Dance' (dull) with Taana Gardner's 'When You Touch Me' (sex).

i think there are a lot of songs that also received little play but were excellent songs, and might receive votes if people knew about them. Tonight I Feel Like Dancing by Mavis Staples I think was an example of an outstanding disco song that a lot of disco afficianado's are not familiar with.

    Hey Nick Nack,
can't seem to be able to send the list it says I ain't registered or something? I agree "Last Dance " is all right - not great. I own a lot of Donna Summer but I would certainly never say she is my favourite disco singer. Probably, female wise, Silver Convention are my favourites. There was just so much injustice. How did "Car Wash" flunk out at no 342 or whatever it is? How did Blondie appear whilst Princes disco efforts "I Wanna Be Your Lover" and "Controversy" were no where to be seen? How come Archie Bell and The Drells were absent yet Rod Stewart is present? Why, why WHY!!!!!

    Hi boogie nites,

Did you realise you have to register twice on this website; once for the forums and once for the rest of the site (comments and such).

    So true! :-(

In the future I hope to merge the site thus requiring only one log-in, but for now one needs to register twice.
