Modern Producers
Time for me to bitch about the 20 something, hip hop lovin', non-concert going know nothings who rerelease albums from the '70s and '80s. My specifics may be something you all can relate to.
First, I have the remastered Gratitude cd. It's a live album from around '75, '76. Anyway I put together a cdr with one of the songs off that cd, Devotion. When I finished making my own compilation, I noticed that the producers/engineers ended the track with the intro to Ramsey Lewis' Sun Goddess. Wrong
Next, I was listening to the Rick James' Anthology cd.
The tracks Fire It Up and Love Gun are merged on the original album. At least that's how i remembered it back in da day when I was firing it up :D On the cd, the tracks while back to back were not merged. I think it took away from the artistic continuity of the original.
Those just of few of my gripes :-?
Have you folks listened to similar rereleased faux pas?
Find them and destroy them!
