dexter wansel i'll never forget my favorite disco

great goove, with a sweet female whispers off some the worlds best clubs.plus a real disco history lesson.my question did this great track get lost on the rush to step on disco records.while songs like my sharona was to sample what was to come next?i believe they were both released the same time.late in 1979.

Love this underrated Philly disco gem ! First heard it on the cd reissue of Dexter's 'Time Is Slipping Away' album ten years ago and was instantly captivated ! Those heavenly vocals are none other than the Jones Girls adding their usual touch of grace. Actually the first single from the album in mid '79 (will have to check my Record Mirrors for full details) 'I'll Never Forget' would have been regarded as a typical 'disco' track, in tune with US tastes where it was a minor hit on Billboards Disco chart. In the UK it was 'The Sweetest Pain' feat. Terri Wells (backing vocals again from Branda, Valerie & Shirley !) which became an enduring classic but 'i'll never forget (my favourite disco)' - 'There is so much to see at Emerald City...' !

Haven't actually heard the 12", believe its about a minute or so longer than the album version which fades before the Jones girls have finished namechecking their favourite US discos. 'Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia...' !
