Wow, I had a hard time deciding on one of three artist this week. I kinda wanna hit that part of the disco scene when the DJs let's us get our grind on :P
Mr. Green epitomizes this mood maker best of the three I had in mind so I'll start with him. Talk about classics with this guy. For The Good Times, Call Me, L-O-V-E, etc. Any one of those was serious foreplay on the floor. :) I'm going to stick with Let's Stay Together as my choice however. That's the one to play when you get 'em home![]()

Paul,
Hard to pick just 1 .... for me everything on the Greatest Hits CD
However I'll single out a couple that get me fired up.
Look What You've Done For Me
Livin' For You
Love & Happiness
Tough decision!
I'll choose outside of its (possible) disco value:
-"Here I am (come and take me)"
-"Belle"
-"How can you mend a broken heart" (Bee Gees cover)
-"Take me to the river" (later covered by Talking Heads)
-"For the good times"
-and of course "Let's stay together"
Al Green is one of the greatest vocal stylists of soul, for me the only one being at the same level with Marvin Gaye.
The other day I saw a video from his new album, I think the song's called "Call me". Pretty lame material, but that voice is still on top. Welcome back!

Paul, you so nasty  8) !!!!!!
I love Al Green and I have most of his songs. Unfortunately, I had to avoid playing it for awhile because it was a somewhat hurtful reminder of a guy that I was dating.
Anyway here are my choices:
I'm Still In Love With You
How Can You Mend A Broken Heart
For The Good Times
*DISCO DELIGHT*
Delight, sorry to hear you have bad memories with Al due to that past relationship. His loss 8)
Find them and destroy them!
"Full Of Fire"
"Let's Get Married"
"You Ought To Be With Me"
"L-O-V-E (Love)"
"Tired Of Being Alone"
"Call Me (Come Back Home)"
"Look What You've Done For Me"
"I'm Still In Love With You"
"Here I Am (Come And Take Me)"
"Sha-La-La (Make Me Happy)"
...or should I have just said all of the cuts from the entire "Greatest Hits" cd.
"Everyone knows the real reason why you got that part it was the time you spent on that casting couch"--Antoine Merriwether
"Excuse me, Miss Thing, but both of us spent time on that couch"--Blaine Edwards
My 3 faves in no special order are:
I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU
LOVE AND HAPPINESS
LET'S STAY TOGETHER
And then you can take the "Greatest Hits" CD and just play it... 24/7. :)
I've got to give a special mention though to "I Can't Get Next To You". He took that from The Temps and just, man, killed it!! I love his version. So gritty, where the Whitfield/Temps version was so slick.
