Jimmy Ruffin "Tell Me What You Want"
Eddie Kendricks "He's A Friend"
Tell Me What You Want was recorded and released in '73 or early '74, so it was done before the 12 inch single. But as was mentioned, there is an extended mix of 7 min on the Disco Gold CD. I don't know if that remix was done in the 70s or recently. It certainly wasn't released back then. There are alternate mixes of Tell Me What You Want floating around. They were on the UK-only Jimmy Ruffin LPs from '73 and '75, which had mainly songs produced by Jimmy Roach. The '73 LP features a mix where the strings are gone, the drums are panned to one channel, and the vocals are echoed. The '75 LP has an instrumental mix of the track under the name 'Jimmy's Theme'.
There weren't any 12in remixes from the 'He's A Friend' LP. The follow-up LP that Kendricks did with Norman Harris yielded two 12 inch remixes - 'Goin Up In Smoke', which is the same length, but sounds a little different from the LP; and 'Born Again', which differs in the ending (no vocals in the break down/outro, but I can't remember if it was the LP or the 12 inch that had the vocals mixed out).
