Almost Spring Cryptic Quiz

Hi everyone :lol:
Remember the Xmas Quiz, i know some of you liked it, well here’s more of the same. The following are cryptic clues to Songs/Artists. All are well known disco/soul type hits. Answers must include Singer & Song.

1 Isn’t she an ache talking about that ring - 1970

2 Forthright man asking a question about love & then answering it - 1965

3 Assembling that trumpet & saxophone are we & then off in that furniture van - 1976

4 This ringer (as in ding dong) with a backing group that rhymes with his name said he’s off, but he’s only just got back - 1972 were on Atlantic but moved to Philidelphia

5 “I didn’t get where I am today” (group) – Satan’s firing them bullets again - 1977

6 This Guy’s DESPERATE to see it again immediately - 1978

7 Bob in shining armour (remember the armour clue from xmas) having a bit of slap & tickle at 3,000 feet - 1973

8 Scruffy people keep telling me I can’t go in there because I look too sad - 1976

9 Soul Diva, may have had a few drinks but she’s not swaying one bit – 1971 couldn't think of another clue so here's a snippet of the lyrics

12 Motown group raid an oyster for mums present - 1971

Hi DISCODISK :D :D

to say i'm impressed would be an understatement - WOW & well done all 11 you submitted so far are spot on :P :P
Just to explain to anyone wondering about the "I didn't get where i am today" this was said repeatedly in the TV comedy The Rise & Fall of Reginald Perrin by Reggies boss CJ - hence CJ & Co. Didn't fool this man though.

Anyway there's two still to go - for everyone else, get in quick or DISCODISK is gonna get the lot :-?

Me thinks i may need to make the cryptic clues a bit harder next time as your just too hot
