Please help me ID beautiful song w/"rain" in lyric

Just discovered this forum, what a great resource! I remember hearing a song once in a disco in Greenwich Village, probably around 1982-83 and it was so beautiful...it had a choir? or at any rate several voices singing "rain, rain, rain", each "rain" drawn out long and on descending notes. There was also the sound of rain. Other lyrics too but I don't remember them. Does anyone have any idea?? Thanks much!!

Sounds like 'Date With The Rain' by Eddie Kendricks.

Could it have been "Rain falls" by Frankie Knuckles? The only thing is... that track is from 1991.

Yeah I agree that it sounds like "Rain" by Goombay Dance Band. Have to pull that one out and listen again.

Thanks everyone! Seems like "Rain" by Goombay Dance Band may be it. Here's the next million dollar question: does anyone know a site that has Real Player clips (or whatever) so I can listen to it and see if it is indeed the one? Or any other suggestions?
