    post 1981 "true" disco

This is related to a past topic "the very last disco song" a few weeks ago. I`m not new to disco music at all, disco has been the only kind of music I`ve listened to for about 7 years now. (I am 19 years old) All of this time, I had never heard of a "true" disco song being out past 1981. After searching the forums I came across the last disco song topic, and found out about Stereo Fun Inc. "Got You Where I Want You Babe" (this song is very close to my defintion of true disco) To me, it really does sound like a 78 or 79 song.
I was VERY excited to hear this song, with it being from 1983. I thought true disco had long been gone at that point. That was the year that I was concieved, so I can now say that I was alive in a year that "true" disco was around, something I thought I would never be able to say.
I am now very interested in finding more disco like this, from 1982 or later. I know there cant be much out there, but I`d appreciate any help. Thanks!

The forum member with the nickname "Outsider" was the pioneer in finding some examples of latter-day disco and I have to thank him for inspiration. Since I read his suggestions I found countless dozens more. What you're really looking for are songs like:

MIAMI HEATWAVE by Love Twins (1982)
BITE THE APPLE by Rainbow Team (Italy, 1982)
LAY IT DOWN ON ME by Gerald Mallory (1982)
THEMES FROM E.T. by Walter Murphy (1982)
DANCE ALL NIGHT by Patrick Boothe (1982)
    DISCO DANCER soundtrack (India, 1982)
SUMMER DREAM by Queen Samantha (1983)
MEMORY (THEME FROM THE BROADWAY MUSICAL 'CATS') by Menage (Instrumental Version, 1983)
COSMIC GIRL by Jamiroquai (UK, 1996)
CAN'T NOBODY LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO by Fundacion Tony Manero (Spain, 2001)
MUDE O BAILE by BsB Disco Club (Brazil, 2002)
TAKE ME TO THE DISCO by Fantastic Plastic Machine (Legendary Disco All Stars Remix, Japan, 1999)
SHOULD I LET HIM GO? by The Company (2000)
SHUV HADISCO KAN by HaDorbanim (Israel, 2003)
LOVE INVINCIBLE by Michael Franti & Spearhead (2003)

No electronics or modern stylings in those, just real pure disco. The beats are disco rather than house. There are also some songs that combine disco with modern stylings but are still disco, like the 2001 international hit "Murder on the Dancefloor" by Sophie Ellis Bextor and the excellent 1982 "I Can Make You Feel Good" by Shalamar.

Last week I also found an electro-disco song from 1987 (!) - "Disco Lover" by the American studio creation Frieda, and the words "disco" are all over its lyrics as well. Before I found that I thought disco was not made between 1984 and 1993. Well, I learn something new every month.

and if you can't get enough of the Stereo Fun Inc sound check out Destination's 'From Beginning To End' album also produced by Elton Farokh Ahi. Originally released on Butterfly Records and a Billboard Disco No.1 in the fall of 1979, cd reissue on Hot Productions 1994.

Not a remix, but a cover version of the older song. Done in a more 80s style.

I've heard so many people rave about Dinosaur L's 'Go Bang' but I really don't get it. Full marks to it being different & quirky but I just think it's over-rated in an 'emperor's new clothes' fashion. Just my opinion.

Also, many 80s hi-energy tracks & early 90s garage/house tracks were very 'disco' in their style but just too electronic/programmed in their execution to be 'disco' IMO. I s'pose u could call it 'disco-by-numbers'!
