    Etienne D'Aho

Last weekend there was yet another glittering disco extravaganza on French Tv5, with usual suspects doing their hits live or lipsynching in front of an ecstatic audience. The dependable Sheila was there doing "Melancholia" and still looking good, while Boney M should really call it a day, or at least throw away the guy whoever he is these days. This person looks like he is 70 and yet he takes of his shirt and jerks around picking hairs off his Boney chest and offering them to the women in the audience.

One far classier act on stage was Etienne D'Aho, a smooth voiced singer who did something called "Weekend A Roma", a tune I had never heard and now got very excited about. What album is it on? This track is just beautiful with a relaxed throb and a catchy melody.

The album is "La Notte La Notte". It also on his "Best of..." compilation.

Etienne Daho - Week End A Rome

If you're searching for vinyl, drop the apostrophe from his last name and search again. They spell it both ways.

Well, I would not exactly all "Weekend A Roma" r&b or rock - maybe it's pop or maybe it's a dance track but it sure sounds like disco to me! :-)

So, Etienne is considered a mor singer in France right? Still, he must have his fans as the cds are available all over Europe, just like the Claude Francois and Alan Chamfort stuff. Not in the league of Claude or Serge of course, Etienne, but still some quite good tunes there in his repertoire I think.
