1. The whistle blows as he makes his rounds
2. ....you say that you are so helpless to that you don't know what to do.
3. ....give me a little hope. One small thing to cling to
4. Phrase the teacher, that brings true love to many
5. Something's gone in me... you were my life my mistery baby, how could you do this to me.
Hi efunk :D :D
When i saw the words Northern Soul my eyes lit up
but of the 3 i put forward here i wouldn't call any of them particularly Northern Soul. It may just be a USA/UK thing
where your Northern Soul Scene features different records to ours. I'd be interested as to what type of records are classified northern soul over in the USA
Three Ring Circus - Blue Magic1. The whistle blows as he makes his rounds
Going in Circles - Friends of Distinction3. ....give me a little hope. One small thing to cling to
Devotion - Earth Wind & Fire4. Phrase the teacher, that brings true love to many

Stan, I never heard that term til I discovered the internet... :) well, we both are in the northern hemisphere 8) ...
you were 4 for 4 on your guesses... I figured #5 would be a tough one... it's from 1978 United Artists (Roadshow) label.![]()
Hi Stan,Originally Written by Stan
To my knowledge the USA doesn't have a Northern Soul Scene. We may have some of the music but we don't call it that. However long ago it was that the Undisputed Truth released their album titled "Northern Soul" was the first time I'd ever seen or heard the phrase. I never could figure out what it meant. It wasn't until all you Brits showed up on the board :D that I finally learned what it is... and that I like a lot of the music. (THANKS, DISCODISK 8) :) )
Maybe it had to do with The Beatles? Their copyright company was called "Northern songs" (it's read in all their song credits) and they did many cover versions of Motown & Stax material (same thing did the Stones and the Kinks).
Thanks for the replies NickNack & Nano :D :D
I'm glad you like a lot of it NickNack
efunk - i only guessed 3 of them, so there's 2 still to get![]()

OK Stan, I get bummed when sometimes when I make these trivia questions when nobody gets them sometimes...
anyways, this is a well known R&B vocal group that had 2 #1 hits in the USA on ballads.
it starts with the letter "E"
11 letters ends with "T"
and 1 more clue here
song title starts with the word "It's"
good luck... :D
efunk, was that a clue to number 5
I'll guess, with a little help from Google,
It's You That I Need - Enchantment :-?
if so that still leaves no.2

Ok everyone....
#2 was a #1 smash in 1972 (soul chart) USA
5 man vocal group ... the record label starts with an (A)
Efunk, I am stumped on this one. Could the 5 man group be Atlantic's Spinners?
Find them and destroy them!
OK everyone... I've been neglecting this thread... I appologize..
Paul, you guessed the vocal group SPINNERS
