Hmmmm, so far it seems nobody can give me any additional information regarding the Metropolis label - perhaps the picture below might help...

Hi,
I'm not sure whether this post is suitable in this forum...
On Saturday I managed to get my hands on a mint copy of a rather hard to find record: Pink Rhythm / Can't get enough of your love (US Metropolis pressing) for a very reasonable price.
Although it came with a plain white jacket, I don't think this is the original sleeve. Questions I have:
Did the small US Metropolis label have their own company sleeves for 12 inches? If yes, could somebody who owns a 12 inch on this label post a picture of the company sleeve or mail me a picture.
Thanks,

Nitro,
that picture looks real familiar.... I don't have a song on that label, however I recall seeing it in a black cover...
Oh, Nitro, I thought I was going to be able to help but I pulled my copies of Pink Rhythm and they are on the Beggars Banquet label out of the UK. Sorry. I do notice that your version is slightly longer than mine: 5:46 vs. 4:58.
Like you I indeed also own the UK Beggars Banquet pressing of the track (which btw. has a rather good looking picture sleeve) -- I bought the Metropolis pressing in addition because I already knew that the version was different. Besides Can't get enough of your love I also have Melodies of love on UK Beggars Banquet.Originally Written by NickNack

Yep. I've got Melodies of Love on 'BB', too. I was looking some more last night but for every artist I pulled, the Metropolis label/team was credited but the song was being distributed by a Warner Company: Carrere, WEA, etc. "Takin' It Straight" by Cori Josias had a 'Metropolis' imprint on its Carrere label but it didn't look anything like yours. Probably because it's a UK (?) import.Originally Written by Nitro
I found a promo Metropolis copy of "What goes around comes around" by Plez with white sleeve, if you can list a couple of other artists on this label maybe I've got other 12" around here to double check.
As far as I know these tracks have also been released as a 12" on this label...Originally Written by Mixmachine
Love Master Ace / Diseases
Cloud Nine / Mystery assignment
Sonia Somner / Love impersonator
Jeanine Carter / S.A.V.E. I.T. (Save It)
Davis Pinckney Project / You can dance (if you want to)
If you can dig up some more info for me I'd sure appreciate it!

I've got two copies of this, but neither is a UK pressing: the first is a French one on the Carrere label with a picture sleeve, the second is a US pressing on Sire - also with a picture sleeve, which is VERY different compared to the one that was made in France.Originally Written by NickNack
Btw. excellent track! :) (at least that's what I think)

Nitro, hope you are still around, while looking for something else I found your cover it reads long playing 12" at the bottom...![]()
