Did some Emailing and Mark's right - for all of you San Franciscans that were lucky enough to dance the morning away at Trocadero Transfer, there's a reunion party at the Glas Kat Supper Club. Where's that? Well, it's at 520 - 4th Street, the same place that Troc was located!!! The party starts at 6 pm for us "old timers" - sigh...
A couple of the guys that used to shop at Aloha Records are the promoters of the party, and Robbie Leslie is indeed the featured DJ. They're suppose to have a website with more info and some surprises coming up at remembertheparty.com.
After the initial disbelief, quite a few of my friends are excited about this event.
"People all over the world, start a Troc Train...Troc Train"
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
This could be a meeting place for Discomusic.com types, I would imagine. Anyone interested? As soon as more info is available--word will be spread.![]()

Hey, I just copied that note that "Ron" wrote over at the 5am site. "Ron" is gonna tell Robbie what Bobby played. If I go, I'll tell y'all what was played. I, too, am quite surprised that an attempt was not made to get Bobby himself to play. But I've heard he doesn't have that record collection anymore....and is a tad, how shall I say this...undependable? The promoters told Keefe that they didn't know how to get in touch with him.
Hey, they're promising "surprises"---so maybe He's the surprise!!!![]()

Hey Whistler,
I'm sure Keefe passed Bobby's contact info along to the promoters. Bobby lives in NYC the last I heard. I agree he should absolutely be at this party. :D

Review Robbie Leslies play schedule post in this forum. For those of you who do not know, Robbie was one of the best back in the day. Read the interview Bernie did with Robbie.

I sure hope something like this comes to the East coast. I don't know about Australia, I am a bit selfish...
Hey Marky, I did a search on Bobby V in the disco forum archives and found this LOL

[quote="Bernie"]Just received a note from DJ Robbie Leslie who in the midst of traveling had this to say about Bobby Viteritti:
I'm here in NYC and played the Holiday Party at the Gay/Lesbian Center last night (Saturday). On more than one occasion, my mind went back to the wonderful Bobby Viteritti Interview and how much I owe to the man who helped form my music style and character in my "formative years". Working lights with Bobby those many years ago allowed me to follow my mentor from the beginning of his sets to the end without interruption. And how much Bobby was always willing to share in regard to technique and the varied aspects of "disco as entertainment" vs. just "playing records". Those are not only treasured memories from my youth, but invaluable instruction that has allowed me to keep at the top of my game these many years.
More than 25 years after my first association with B.V., I can still hear characteristics in my performance that go straight back to what I learned from 'the master'. A master not only of the mix, but of the entire environment of a dancers experience.
Thank you, Bobby.

The website with a teaser ad for the Troc Reunion party is now working! So, come on over to the City By The Bay, where, for at least another day, there's alot to celebrate! Thank you Judge Quidachay! (What am I talking about? Well, check out the news sites about today's recent development about one of San Francisco's top stories.)
Uh, Keefe....so what's the website's name? Hmmmmm???? :D
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
OK, I found out it's .....www.remembertheparty.com.
God bless the child with google. :D

Actually Mark, the website's address was in an earlier message. Guess I should have repeated it, sorry!
I was just told that a certain legendary DJ will be attending the party (I shouldn't reveal the name at this time, but you former "Trockettes" will be pleased!).
For those of you thinking about coming over to San Francisco to attend the Remember The Party/ Troc Reunion on April 18th, here's some more info to help you decide! The tickets are surprisingly reasonable. $11.00 if you purchase in advance (includes the $1.00 service charge) and $15.00 at the door.
Also, the website doesn't have the info about hotel accommodations yet, but their event line does (415-339-7807). The Monticello Inn (www.monticelloinn.com), which is on Ellis near Powell (near Union Square and our legit. theatre district), is offering a $99.00 rate. However, you have to call the hotel, Matt Lewis at (415) 433-3775, and ask for the Remember The Party rate. If they fill up and want to put you at the Villa Florence Hotel, that's also okay because it's even closer to Union Square. Both hotels are small boutique hotels renovated by the Kimpton Group (they are famous for doing that in SF).
By the way, does anybody recognize the male singer from the early 80s singing in the background of the event line??? We have discussed him on this site in the past!![]()
The party was excellent.
When is the next one?
My fave comment....

This can't be a one-time thing.
Where in San Francisco can we get our disco fix?
Discovery,
Be sure to visit the Guestbook at www.remembertheparty.com and let the guys at White Light Productions know you want more! That's all I can say right now.
Okay folks, if you're at all interested in a sequel to the Remember The Party/ Troc Reunion, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post a comment on their Guestbook at www.remembertheparty.com or perhaps by sending a positive Email to Robbie Leslie via his website!
