    The Bitch

I just saw the old Joan Collins soft core flick "The Bitch" tonight for the first time and was wanting to know if a soundtrack LP was ever released. Biddu did all the original music for the film and it's some real good ****! Also theres tons of underground disco classics in it. "Cuba" by Gibson Brothers, "Turn The Music Up" by Players Assosiation just to name a few! There was no soundtrack listed at the end of the film :( If there is one id like to get it in my collection!

Strange - I thought 2nd hand stores the world over would be stacked with soundtrack albums from both La Collins epics THE STUD and THE BITCH, they certainly are in Europe.

As Jussi says, this is a common album over here. If you like next time I see a copy on my thrift store hunts, I can pick it up for you.

Oh, yes she's a real bitch! The first film The Stud is better though. I bought the double dvd in amazon.uk some months ago.

For what I remember from the Stud OST it had gatefold sleeve and some cool pictures alongside a commercial of Stud after shave! Anybody ever used it??? The songs were mainly edits or single versions, so you are eventually bound to get the full length versions...

    Jim,
As you already know, I do own "the stud" soundtrack ,complete with fold out cover and after shave add!

That soundtrack is easily found in vinyl bargain bins over here but I must admit I've never seen the soundtrack from "The Bitch"
The title track from the movie though, was written by Biddu / Don Black and recorded by The Olympic Runners.
A 6:04 version of the song is to be found on their "Dancealot" LP (Polydor, 1979)

Thanks for everyone's responce. I have tracked down a copy of "The Stud" soundtrack and just am waiting for the business transaction to go through (am sending for it from overseas of corse). "The Bitch" soundtrack LP like K-Bee had said, never seen that and is what I wanna get hold of, or compile it myself if it would be easier? LOL. If anyone who just responded owns it could you tell me if theres anything on it that aint avalible anywhere else?

PS I liked "The Bitch" movie better than "Stud". I have a bootlegg VHS which I just got yesturday of what's been released on this DVD with the 2 films on it. In the USA these films are obscure and not avalible in any format. Nice quality on this boot!

    DISCO

The word evokes not just a type of music or a kind of dance or even a style of dress.It\'s also a new social order of black and white, gay and straight, rich and poor, all hot, sweaty and, most likely, high, together.

Ha ha yes. I'm pretty sure it was in the Stud. It's a swimming pool in central London. I think it's called The Oasis.

Actualy there were swimming pool orgy type scenes on both  So could be either or. Joan Collins didnt look too bad either for being in her 40's at the time..hehe. If anyone owns the soundtrack LP to "Bitch" if you could give me a track list that would be great

I have the soundtrack to The Bitch on vinyl. It contains 20 tracks, but they are all very short versions. a terrible pic of Joan Collins on the cover, but some nice stills from the film in the gatefold.

For the record, these are the tracks:

    The Bitch, Olympic Runners
    I Will Survive, Gloria Gaynor
You Make me Feel like Dancing, Leo Sayer
Giving Up, Giving In, Three Degrees
Pour Your Little Heart Out, The Drifters
    Denis, Blondie
    Everything is Great, Inner Circle
Just Like We Never Said Goodbye, The Stylistics
I Thought It Was You, Herbie Hancock
Turn the Music Up, Players Association
Can You Feel the Force, The Real Thing
I Feel Lucky Tonight, Linda Lewis
    The Long Ranger, Quantum Jump
Standing in the Shadows of Love, Deborah Washington
    Cuba, Gibson Brothers
    Music You Are, George Chandler
Love of My Life, The Dooleys
Dancing on the Edge of a Heartache, The Hunters
There No Me Without You, Len Boone
I Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet, Gonzales

There seem to be one copy available at Gemm at the moment for around $12.00. However seing that the tracks must be re edited beyond recognition I wouldn't bother getting it really.
Hell, Herbie's "I thought It Was You" clocks at 8:54 on his own "Sunlight" album.....that really paints a picture of how this LP must be ruining the songs completely

    Anyway, here's the link

The tracks which you might have trouble finding elsewhere and which, for me, are stand-outs are those by Len Boone, Deborah Washington and Quantum Jump.

The others are either easily available on other albums (and probably better versions too) or are really just "filler" tracks. For example, the Linda Lewis track is actually a slow number, though quite an OK song.

The Deborah Washington track I do own on the original LP in the long 7 min version which is very hard to find but a classic non the less. The Linda Lewis track I remember hearing in the movie..kinda sounded like an old jazz bar type song. A few of the other tracks I dont recall even hearing in the film (I Will Survive being one of em). The Quantum Jump track is great! Kinda reminds me of Roxy Music in a way. I non the less will probably end up buying the soundtrack to have everything..then just replace the edit versions with the full ones that I do own on either 12''rs or LPs :) Oh wanted to edit and add on to this message. If your wondering about info on the Deborah Washington LP with the long version, it's called "Any Way You Like It" on Ariola America (think it's dated 1978). My choice track on that LP is called "Take A Chance With Me". Great morning type disco track!

    Jimmy M,

You have such good taste. "Take a Chance..." is a great track. Tell me... I have this on 12" running 5:41 and "Love Shadow/Standing In The Shadow of Love" running 6:11. What are the times on the lp and is the lp on Ariola? Funny the 12"s never referenced the cuts as taken from lp "xxx" as most do.

Ok, after digging deep I actualy found my LP  Love Shadow/Standing In The Shadows Of Love together add up to 6:11 then "Take A Chance With Me" is printed on the label as 4:45. So im guessing theres a time print screw up on either my LP or your 12'' cause I cant see that small of a difference being a different version. Yes the LP is on Ariola America. Stock #SW-50040 and its dated 1978. For the record, I would always mix from "Take A Chance..." into "No Goodbyes" by Curtis Mayfield. They blend flawless with pitching down Mayfield and timing it just right. Heres the track list for the LP, may as well give it since I pulled it out LOL

Side A (all runs non stop like a suite)
    -------------------------------------
    Love Shadow
Standing In The Shadows Of Love
    Fire
    The Letter

    Side B
    --------------------
    Ready Or Not
    Baby Love
Any Way That You Want Me
    Take A Chance With Me

Despite 'The Stud' featuring the gorgeous Oliver Tobias & that infamous lift/elevator scene, I much prefer 'The Bitch' as I feel that it better conveys that decadent & hedonistic late-70s 'lifestyle'. The way that La Collins seduces the 'dumn chauffeur' at the beginning & that aerial view of NYC in the introduction (from a chopper! :o ) is truly the best trash/glam combination in a film of all time IMO.
