    Watson Beasley

Anyone else a fan of Watson Beasley? I first came across them in the collection of a friend who used to be a DJ in the early 80s, and now have their Unidisc CD.

Does anyone remember how their music was received at the time? I think it would certainly have had a very different sound. The CD I have basically features all the tracks from their 1980 album, and I've never heard of them doing anything else - I wonder what happened to them ...

The Watson Beasley album went Top 10 on the Billboard Disco chart early in 1980 if i remember correctly. After purchasing the Undisc reissue cd i have to say i found the album disppointing overall, 'Breakaway' striking me as much too fast and rather empty. Still, its worth hanging onto for 'Don't Let Your Chance Go By' which was something of an anthem at The Saint.
