The song "Backstreet" came about when DJ, Angelo Solar, wanted a song about the club where he worked. In Spring 1979, Patti Whatley debuted the song at Backstreet in Atlanta, GA. As a two-part surprise that evening, Jackie Moore also performed "This Time Baby". The ads for the disco proclaimed, "Backstreet - Now A Song!" The song has frenzied percussion and frequent breaks. The DJ went on to mix the Pink Lady US debut, "Kiss in the Dark".
