I don't know the duo in question but "Grazin' In The Grass" was originally done by The Friends Of Distinction back in the late 60s. I assume this is the same song. It's been covered by lots of different artists.
Yesterday while browsing in a record store, I came across a cd by a duo named cc: Diva. It featured a man and a woman on the cover and the date on the back of the cd said 1988.
Has anyone heard anything by them? I noticed there was a song called "Grazin In The Grass" which I assume was a remake.
Are they pop? freestyle? house?

Hugh Masekela - "Grazing In The Grass" (Instr.) 1968Originally Written by K-Bee
Friends of Distinction - "Grazing In The Grass" (Vocal) 1969
LOL so Masakela had a version actually older that Friends Of Distinction's. I had no idea really. Don't think i've ever heard that one.....I'll investigate![]()
K-Bee,
Hugo's version is top shelf :D
i play this frequently and sounds as fresh as it ever did.... Check it out.![]()
Hi K-Bee,
Masekela's version was big, Big, BIG over here. Number one on the charts in 1968. The man can play that horn. I think you'll like this. The vocal version that the 'Friends' sing was written by their founder and group member, Harry Elston.
And, sorry, nrg, I've never heard of cc:Diva. Can't even find a description on the net.
Gemm has a few items from them.
I couldn't find any biographical info on the net either.
K-bee,
I think there is even 2 jazz versions of the song. :o
George Howard
and someone else... :P
A actual JAZZ track by George Howard, Efunk?
You know I'm very picky about the smooth jazz stuff:
90 % tedious elevator music - 10% stuff actually worth listening to. but let's not get into that- I will try looking for this version too.
Guys can we keep with the topic?
hey nrgbeat,
i noticed that you never got a satisfying answer about this act.
despite the cute name, cc:diva never released anything worthwhile. i haven't heard their records since their original release, but my memory of them is that they were forgettable pop-dance junk - i don't think anything they did got much play.
CC Diva has a Great Love song on there album, which is called " Tenderly " there was a top 40 song on it as well, but My records are in storage for a while so I cant tell you the name of it,sorry.
Hi, I found a list of their singles but not much else i'm afraid
