Did anyone have a chance to listen to this mix?

What did you think of it?

It's not my mix. I found it and wanted others to hear it.

NRG: Here's my take on it and some observations.

I listened to some of it and thought the mixing was a little 'slammed' if you know what I mean and rather imprecise.
In this day and age, I would have thought there is no real excuse for getting mixes so wrong. Anyone with a PC and decent software should be able to produce stunning mixes and if you're gonna put them up for scrutiny, why not make them as good as possible?

Looking at some other mixes from him, he tends to mix lots of tracks from the same band together doesn't he? Hardly original, interesting or imaginative.

Sorry, but there's just too much of this stuff on the net and it really doesn't do anyone any good. I wish people would take time to learn some basics and do them well, before taking on the whole world and his dog.

Musically it verges into cheeseville quite regularly. I don't think the actual programming is that bad, but the mixing is pretty poor and in some cases very sudden - to the point where it isn't even really mixing.

However, I will confess the mix did contain a few tracks which I didn't know - cuts by artists I would have assumed were more on the cabarate end of disco. So I've been turned onto Claudia Barry "Sweet Dynamite", which is a pretty decent track, so it was worth listening for that. What label is this on - she doesn't seem to sing on it much

Sweet Dynamite" by Claudja Barry is a real nice song and you should listen to it outside of the context of the mix to get a better feel for it.

There's a few Claudja Barry CDs out there by Hot Productions. At least one should contain the full length (over 7 minutes) version of "Sweet Dynamite". The Lollipop version is an edit, despite it's claim of being the 'extended version'.

    Nrgbeat,

I finally got to check out the '75/'76 mix... but was slightly disappointed that he/she put that mix out there without giving it much thought that it was a sub-par effort. I'm not perfect... but I would've practiced a little more before putting it out there for everyone to hear. THE HUSTLE mixed into TO EACH HIS OWN... I was actually embarrased & kinda chuckled... actually, kinda hard to do that mix over 16 beats.
