Does anyone remember her song from around 1978, 'No GDM'? Fantastic synth-disco-pop with Nico-esque vocals. "There will be no great dark man! If I am a red-head queer!"
Anyway... this has recently been re-released as a 12" with a bunch of (average) remixes, but worth picking up for the original. :D
Hmmm... I'll have to check that out. I've got the original LP (very much a guilty pleasure) and the 1985 remixes, which aren't much different.Originally Written by born2disco
"Nice Mover" is an LP that I cherish, despite it's many flaws. Unfortunately, GXP's follow-ups, "Xtra-Ordinaire" and "Voyeur" were each considerably weaker efforts.
My flatmate found a copy of 'Nice Mover' in his sisters' basement.... the title track is fantastic.
Womb Prayer!
yes i love that LP too!
p.s.
there's also a synthpop track "More G.D.M." by Red Lipstique from 1983 or something, that's a nice record too but i don't know if they are related?
This was re-release on Tigersushi records with a brand new Metro Area track on the flip. Part of the 'No More GDM' series.
The 12" I've got is not the one with Metro Area on the flip. It has 3 additional remixes of the Gina X track.
Womb Prayer!
erasure's version was decent.

The word evokes not just a type of music or a kind of dance or even a style of dress.It\'s also a new social order of black and white, gay and straight, rich and poor, all hot, sweaty and, most likely, high, together.

Hello
It has been a while since I was last on here...
I love GINA X, I recently discovered a number of the 12" releases in a second hand music shop.
