it's on the Lexicon of Love LP.If you have it give it another listen.But on 10 this time.Great 4/4 beat,lyrics,synths chords,lovely backing vocals and driving bass.Difinitly worth the 3:51 of your time.Love to hear everyones opinion on this.What sucks is there was no promo or single put out on this.I don't play cd :evil: or lp due to their low fidelity.So I never really get to play it outside of home.It goes in the Mandre first LP category of "home play only". :o

Although I've never been a DJ and so can't speak to the lack of a 12" version, I've always loved this song and wished it had got more exposure. Throughout "Lexicon," I love the contrast between the almost classical sounding string section, the sturdy bass and those great chunky, slapping beats. And, of course, the way Martin Fry's vocals work their way from a croon to a kind of controlled hysteria. Great stuff!

I own the ABC album, and am a dj but I have to say I would play "Tears Are Not Enough" over "Date Stamp". Oh and I like to be campy and dramatic to "Valentines Day". The other albums are not so good.
