    Israeli CD with Disco Tracks!

    Hi Bernie and gang! :D

An Israeli disc containing Disco acts came out about a couple of months ago. There are three pure Disco tracks (tracks 2,3,7) - the first is preceded by a semi Disco-ish 1:18 min' intro. Also featured is a track which is sort of a blend of disco with Jewish Hassidic music - the first I've encountered.

Unfortunately, the disc is not available yet on GEMM nor Musicstack nor Alibris (and couldn't find it on eBay either), but you can all get the flavor on http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/h...m/index-1.html. My favorite is "Shuv Hadisco Kan" (Disco's here again). The second track's name means "blue light", the 7th track's name means "we went out to dance".
I purchased the disc Friday and can't get enough of "Disco's here again"...

You know, I'll periodically be checking back GEMM and the other marketplaces and if I find it for sale I'll translate the lyrics for y'll. Cool?

Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard of this before. The release date was August 14, 2003 and I found it listed for sale at the Hebrew-language store musicaneto.com. "Or Kadol" and "Shuv HaDisco Kan" are OK but not particularly interesting. I think "Yatsanu Lirkod" is a good song.

Have you heard the disco version of "Havah Nagilah" by Lucrethia and Azoto from 1979? It's hilarious! And Percy Faith did a decent non-disco orchestral version in 1975 on his "Disco Party" album.

    The "Livdok Lach Tamano'a" track

Over the last two weeks or so I've developed an interest in the above mentioned track after having virtually ignored it (don't know why :) - stupid on my part  ). I'd say its second half is better than the first. I think it stacks up nicely against "Yatsanu Lirkod".

I'll keep an eye out for additional material this band might dole out.
