    one night in bangkog

Greetings to everyone and Happy New Year, specially for those like Bernie who had helped me find those hard-to-find songs I treasure. Here's another one..Who performed "One Night In Bangkog"?

Murray Head recorded a song of that title in the '80s.

Happy New Year to you as well.

There was another artist at around the same time as Murray Head's version. It was by Robey a female singer. Not as good as Murray's version.

The song originally appeared on the "Chess" musical album created by Benny Andersen & Björn Ulveus (Of Abba Fame) around 1984.
There was also a 12" Murray Head single released with a 7 minute version of the song (the Bangkok mix)

The 12" version of Murray Head's ONB is awfull, unless the Bangok mix is a different one. I had the british release, if I remember right it was about 5 minutes long. Otherwise the mix was a good extended one, but they used the chorus vocals of the b-side (Merano) in the middle of the mix. That was just plain awfull. Sounded so cheep!

Yep, the Robbies, version is quite silly sounding, though Shep Pettibone had his fingers in it :o

they have the hot tracks remix of Murray Head's - One night in bankok. It's an ok version. Very unusual because the put in the middle Danny Elfman's - Gratitude when the murray head song goes through a tribal instrumental thing in the middle.

I prefer Robey's version by far over Murray head.

    My 2 cents :)
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
