    The Raes

Came across this interesting piece of information regarding The Raes 1978 song A Little Lovin'.

"The song narrowly missed hit status in the US after a typographical error in Billboard magazine showed the record sliding down the charts after a promising start and A & M US pulled all promotion on the record."

    How unfortunate for them.

    bigm,

the 7" version of this song sucks... I remember hearing itg it danced to on American Bandstand. It cuts out the entire intro (from the 12" version)... 7" version has absolutely no life to it. Luckily the song was released when it was during the biggest year in disco because I think it would have flopped.

the 12" on A&M Records was mixed perfectly!!! I love this record.

Did you hear the Raes' version of Supertramp's prog classic "School"? It's at the end of their Dancing up a storm LP. Truly bizarre for the Supertramp fan (I was one). :o

Really liked this group's sound. "Don't Turn Around" always did it for me. :)

I think "A Little Lovin' (Keeps the Doctor Away)" made it up to #61 on the Billboard Pop Chart, which could still be considered excellent, considering how many disco songs failed to crossover at all.
