The only song that comes to mind is "At Midnight" by T-Connection, but that came out before '84.
This is a dance song from around 1984 early 1985, A male sings this song, I believe african american. Could be shalamar or any of those pop groups from that era. It was a real popular song around 1984. I remember some lyrics, I could be off a little on them
Never keeping any secrets anymore
He said something like this alot: at midnight, midnight, midnight or at mid-on mid-on mid-on, repeated 3 or 4 times. and then the song went into a cool musical intro after he said that.....Any Clues? sholud not be that hard to figure out other then my lyrics might throw you off. Please let me know....Thanks.. Adam

Didn't 'At Midnight' get re-issued in the 'Sunnyview Classics' series in '86? If so, then this may take you closer to the answer.
What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
Thanks for the reply but I know it's not t-connection. This was played on the radio and probably the clubs too. also could have been early 1985 that it came out in. Defeniatly has the early to mid 1980's sound. I'm sure the 12 inch single has the extended remix on it, because I heard it before, It had sort of a R&B beat too, but it was not a slow song, Could be midnight Star, Lakeside or New Edition, it came out sometime around when new edition came out with cool it now and defenitly had the sound of blackness like there songs. The artist is probably well known. I remember through out the song, he reapted mid-on or midnight. Still any clues??? Adam
R&B group Switch made a song in 1984 entitled "keeping Secrets" thats very much in the midnight star style. It's an uptempo dance track with male vocals and avaliable on their 1984 Total Experience set "Am I Still Your Boyfriend". I don't know if this was released on 12" though
I just found that song, and unfortunatly thats not the one. thanx for trying, any other clues??? Adam
"Looking at Midnight" by Imagination? (1983??)
"lookin' at midnight, midnight"....(can't remember the rest)
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
