    What's in a name?

I thought it would be interesting/funny to see how each of you guy's ended up with your usernames/nickmames.
There a some that have used there normal names

I'll start off. My name is Arthur and when I got to football here in Australia the fans calll me the whistler 'cos I whistle after each goal and my whistles are deafening.
I had perfect pitch now I can't hear for ****!!
    Feel free to post

I APOLOGISE IF THIS HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE. I'm sure it has

    Cheers Arthur/whistler

I couldn't resist ,This is how How Rodney Got His Name
    What's in a Name?
I tell you, with me nothing works out. I always get stuck. That's how I got my name, RODNEY DANGERFIELD.

When I went into show business I saw an ad in the paper. It said: "Improve Your Personalilty..." So, I went to see the man.

He told me my personality was okay but my name was my problem.

I said to him, "My name? How could a name be a problem? Even William Shakespeare said, 'What's in a name?"

    He said, "Who?"

    I said, "William Shakespeare."

He said, "Look, do you want to listen to me or do you want to listen to your friends?"

I said to him, "I don't understand. Is it good to change your name?"

He said, "Of course I always keep changing my name. In fact, right now I can give you a very good deal. I can give you a new name for five hundred dollars".

I said, "Five hundred dollars! That's a lot of money."

He said, "It's a great name. It's a name once people hear it, they'll start saying it."

    I said, "What's the name?"

    He said, "Rodney Dangerfield."

    I said, "RODNEY DANGERFIELD?"

He said, "See, you just heard it, and your're starting to say it! Listen to me, take the name."

I said, "Wait a minute. Suppose I use the name and I don't like it. Can I bring it back?" He said, "Of course. All I ask is one thing. While you're using the name, don't give it a bad name!"

So I decided to call myself Rodney Dangerfield. As soon as I got home, I thought to myself I made a mistake. I called the guy up. I said, "Look, I want my money back. This is Rodney Dangerfield."

    He said, "Who?"

I said, "Dangerfield! Don't you remember?"

He said, "Oh, yeah, Shakespeare's friend."

I said, "Look, I don't want the name."

He said, "Don't be foolish. Try it for two weeks. I guarantee you'll like it."
I tried the name for two weeks, I still didn't like it. I went to bring it back. I couldn't find the guy.

    He changed his name.

Well my last name is Milovich and in high school they use to call me Mahovalich like the Hall of Fame Toronto Maple Leaf hockey player Frank Mahovalich. He was also known as The Big M which they used to also refer to me as.However with the advent of the net it appears that The Big M is a common user name and I kept getting it rejected when I tried to use it when registering so I simply said I was the Original Big M.

"hotdiscomix" is a mixture from my favorite Remix Service Hot Tracks / Disconet / Ultimix and the name of my website :D

my K-Bee username is actually inspired from my real names initials (KB). I just "funkdafied" up a little.
It was only just recently I came to think about the similarity to the "K-Gee" track we all know and love.

I use Steely Dan 'cos I was obsessed with them at the time (I still love 'em) that I registered & I thought it would be more interesting to use the name of a non-disco act.

    my name

    "hoellihozb" consists of 2 words:

"hoelli" is a shortcut for my family name hoellermann.

"hozb" was the name of a counterstrike-clan (yes the computergame) in which I used to play some time ago.

Since then, I am registered under "hoellihozb" at ebay, and now at discomusic.com 8)

mine is self explaining, a close second to disco music is my love of fast cars. before i bought my trans am i also had a 70 chevy chevelle and a 73 mustang convertable. both mint condition, i traded them in on sept. 8 2001 for a brand new 2002 ram air trans am with all the trimmings, black on black of course. it eats hondas and nissans for lunch. 8)

    Just for the record:

I started my DJ life as Steve Quinn (don't ask), later changed to Stevie Q and I had a short lived mobile called Quinny's Discoshow at one point. The name stuck.
Most of the DJs who knew me from back in the day would know me as Quinny, so I thought I'd use that name just i case any of them ever show up.......................

NickNack --- a nickname created by a dear friend who is now gone. Whenever he got excited about one of my mixes during a set he would yell out that name, followed by something cute, I'm sure.

And you thought I was a household ornament collecting dust. :P

 Miss you, Jerry. Love you more. :D

Rodmann2 is a combo of my first and last names, Roderick Mann II. By the way, I've always hated Dennis Rodmann. Even though I'm an Illinois pro basketall fan. LOL

Mine is a family nickname. My real name is Fernando. Hey, isn't that small letter great? :)
I guess when I was little and people asked me, I pronounced it "Nano".
And yes, this is the second time I say this in the forum, but what the hell... 8)

Yeah, I remember listening to that song and thinking it was "my" song... (even as I'd rather liked the cornier "Thank you for the music") Anyway, I was born like ten years prior to ABBA's success
