    The Temptations

Before the TEMPTATIONS had hit records, what were some of the group names they had before they charted?

Excellent quiz topic Efunk. :) We don't talk about Otis & Co. enough around here.
Actually, The Temptations had almost as many names as they had different members.

before becoming the temptations, the different members were involved in these groups:
    The Distants
    The Elgins
    The Pirates
    The Voicemasters

It was actually a gathering of the members of The Elgins & The Distants that ultimately led to the forming of the Temptations
    There was life after disco!!

    Hey DiscoDisk,

Not only ar you back :) but you come with news for Temptations freaks like me. I never noticed this cd before and Amazon has the release date as last year.

Regardless, you know I'm going to buy it. I have all their Psychedelic albums but to hear these songs remastered... I know I'll be in Temp-Heaven.

Can see you're busy with your move and all but try to check in with us when you can.

BTW: I was reading the latest review on Amazon for the Psychedelic Soul CD and when I finished I thought, well, at least someone knows his stuff. I looked up at the name and it was none other than our own Zeca Acevedo. :D

HI NICKNACK after posting asking why E-FUNK wasnt raving about this i thought i should have mentioned your name on this one, this was released as a single c.d a couple of years ago here i thought it was a great idea to have that period all on one c.d [there was no unreleased on it] but the u.s version is the one, it was released last year but it is quite new only months old apart from the alt takes runaway child sounds awesome :P some people say its record companies putting variations of albums out to make money but i dont look at it that way if they release the same c.d with another alternate take of ball of confusion on wednesday ill buy it and if they rlease the same with an alternate take of cloud 9 on thursday ill buy it too, lifes too short!
ill never forged as a kid walking down the street with a radio to my ear and i heard ball of confusion for the first time it blew me away i froze and listened to every note, totally groundbreaking even today i could find the very spot my two feet stood and remember what clothes i had on :P
you are gonna love this and im pissed of cos i still havnt unpacked all my c,ds and i really want to play this NOW :(

    discodisk,

I guess I never raved about it, because I had no idea of these alternate take versions... :( The only odd ball Temptations gem I have is MY GIRL accapella on a re-issued CD I bought a few years back... kinda cool.

That accapella version of 'My Girl' is what a lot of people remember off their "Emperors of Soul" boxed set. It's not listed but it's the last song on disc 2.
