Finally got around to playing a couple of the Salsoul 'DJ Tools' 12"s I bought earlier this year and boy, what a swizz! The previously unissued instrumental versions are horrible, with drums that are flat, dual-tracked and out-of-sync! How flabby! And the sound quality has all the hi-fi credentials of AM radio. A capellas sound strained - rhythm tracks just cobbled together willy-nilly - and to think these 12s cost the same as an LP. A blatant, miserly cash-in and shame on Benthlehem. 'Create Your Own Classic From Our Classic!'??? MY ARSE!

Pity they didn't do the job properly and give up just more than tin-can snippets (ONE MINUTE of drums? Excuse me - just how long is 'My Love Is Free'?) and package double 12"s with all the important elements in full length.

If you're still thinking of buying any of these (a stage at which I now wish I'd remained), don't bother! Procrastinate! BASTUDS! :o
